So I recently got into infinity. I love the game and I highly recomend it. Getting ready for a local league has me getting some new additions to my force as well as getting everyone painted and ready for battle. I play the mighty Kazaks, however due to my psychological need to convert everything that I get my hands on, as well as not being too happy with some of the older sculpts, I explored my vast knowledge of third party miniatures to convert up some replacements for my Kazaks. I alologize for the rather low photo quality, the only camera I have access too is my phone and it's not a big fan of model pictures.
Here are a few of the models that I had painted previously, the Ariadna scout and special forces that I've been using for a shotgunner spetznaz. I love these guys, the spec ops was the first Infinity model that I got for a GURPS campaign. Once I tried the game, he got to return to his home system as a Kazak Speznaz. With how they play on the table I am not disappointed with my choice of faction.
Scout and Spetznaz, I have some others from infinity such as the doktor.
Now for the custom stuff. I purchased models from Anvil Industries afterlife series, and I can't recommend this company any higher. No flash, no defects, fast shipping even though it was from the
UK and pretty good prices for squads of 5 or 6 dudes (I'm a warhammer player, my wallet has taken a lot of punishment) For the most part these conversions are headswaps that have been done with DakkaDakka's own Mad Robot Miniatures
http://madrobotminiatures.com/zencart/. These head are spectacular, they're designed for
40k guardsmen but they're a bit smaller, and so they don't look out of place next to infinity's more truescale porportions. The quality is spectacular, and so is the guy's customer service. Seriously, I messaged him here on Dakka and he replied that day. Some extra bags from mad robot as well as greenstuff shemagah's help make them look a bit more modern, as well as cover up some of the wonky headswaps and gaps.
One of the Anvil industries guy had a shotgun, so I made him into a second shotgun Spetznaz. The Spec ops that I had is going to have to be something else, maybe an LT or if I run a rifle spetznaz... although the shotgunners are so good.
The other pictures are of the infantry, I can now run a boatload of Kazak's so I just have to wait until we're a real sectoral and I can make use of Link teams.
A demolitions man that might see the table as a Line Kazak paramedic or a wardriver (can't decide... wardriver comes highly recomended if I get a Traktor Mul... something on my wishlist) as well as a casualty model for the HVT that was a Defiance games. I do NOT recomend defiance games, and it seems the internet agrees with me based on the negative reviews on Dakka as well as their site being down. I was apart of their hardsuit fiasco, but got some of their panzer grenadiers before that. The quality was iffy, some parts had small bubbles to fill in, but a lot of weapons were floppy and made from horrible plastic. This guy was laying around, and I need an HVT model for the local league, so I gave him a spare Baklava head. No Kazak left behind.
Now for the bigger conversions. I made a couple of Veteran Kazaks from the tracer exosuits. I love veteran kazaks, but the models for them are pretty old and not too impressive, there's only 1 pose that I liked. So I took the oppertunity to convert up something like the exosuits from the game STALKER for extra russian. I got got a minigun from Zinge industries, this company has some sweet bitz. The ammo belt is soft plastic, but has a wire running through it so it holds it's pose fantasticly. Love these guys, I gotta finish converting the rest of the squad, but I probably won't run more then 1 vet Kazaks. All of the
GS around the leader with the minigun and the berret is another shemagah scarf, because the joint where the Anvil head goes is pretty deep, and I needed to make him look like he had a neck.

Wyrmalla's amazing STALKER miniatures were awesome inspiration. I will always be jealous of his threads.
