I'm going to be getting an Imperial Knight soon, but i'm a bit unsure of what variant will go best with my Mechanicus. I'm leaning towards the Crusader as i love the amount of firepower it has, but i'm curious to see other peoples view on the subject.

I thought the Crusader was the go-to regardless of army, unless you're bringing AdLance.

The Crusader is the best all-round for AdMech, but it's expensive. The Paladin or Warden are next best. Errants are great, but don't synergize as well as the Pally or Ward. However, the Gallent is cheap, and a CC monster.

As to FW Knights, the Acheron is the best for AdMech, followed by the Castigator, with the Magrea edging out the Lancer only due to synergy with other AdMech units. Lancers are still great, just geared to kill things AdMech don't worry about.

I did try the Errant against some grey knights one game, as I needed more AP2 and he provides a nice large template of it. He did really well, and managed to survive the entire game!

413th Lucius Exterminaton Legion- 4,000pts

Atalurnos Fleetbreaker's Akhelian Corps- 2500pts

Grey knights arent really the best judge of how effective a Knight is, they're pretty bad against imperial knights

Crusader is the best choice if you have points for it though

I have to definitely say yes to Crusader but I like Paladins/Wardens because they still have D attacks! I've been leaning more towards Wardens as of late instead of Paladins. Time will tell

I've been using the Errant as that's just the model I have currently. It seems to perform well enough. I've been wanting a crusader and then FW teased that new Admech knight, so I'm going to wait until we know more about that to make a decision on Knight #2.

I actually enjoy fielding an Errant with my Grey Knights, because it synergizes very well by bringing what the GK need.

You can get more shooting from anywhere, Str D and stomps on the other hand are something imperials are markedly short on (if the crusader is stomping, it's locked in combat, in which case, why did you pay an extra 50 points for the extra guns?). Why you would give up the main reason (ruleswise) to take knights in the 1st place is a mystery to me.
