I just started running this for fun. I know now don't put the kans in front if you don't want your bigger meks held up by immobalized kans. Currently making a mega and meka dread for the allied detachment but I just played against marine gladius with 500 ish points of free razorbacks and not one single walker made it across the field. Two groups of las cannon devastators and las/plas rhinos made super quick work of me. Any advice appreciated.

Do you mean the Waaagh! Ghazghkull formation or the IA:8 army list?

I use to put the kans in front to take the hits with moderate success. Oddly i got more success when i put the big stuff (mega dread, nauts) on the front and the kans on the side and shooty kans behind.
Deffdread also next to the big stuff.
You got it, normally put stuff so they don't block each others.
