I am curious what units you like putting in a drop pod from both allies and sm. What do you have good success with, or just think is funny, or is just down right cheesy

GK Purifiers are incredibly good with a drop pod. Being able to drop in super close and have a disembark move to position for some psychic BBQing.

Depends.

I enjoy a BA 10 man TAC with Heavy Flamer and Melta/Combi-melta for dual goodness. Assault Marines too with three meltas in the squad.

Skitarri can also do combat squads well with their weapons, although I don't play them I have seen it used to great effect.

Culexus is as always nasty to DS against psychic deathstars.

Also, 5 Dominions with 4+ Meltas for first turn ignores cover melta.

Well...one of the local tournaments played where partners were Battle Brothers with each other regardless of armies...so Wraithguard with D-scythes.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I've been humoring the idea of a company command squad in one. Load them all with melta. Give the ignore cover order.

Like the idea with the sws.

When I run a Lion's Blade Strike Force for my Dark Angels, I usually put one of the tactical squads from the Demi Company in a pod. 5 men, melta, combimelta. This unit has killed Commander Pask on the first turn in two different games.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Krieg! What a hole...

Remind me, does the drop pod have limitations regarding bulky models and whatnot.

Because I'd probably go ahead and fit a Hades Breaching drill and its crew in there, its infantry after all.
