So I've picked up the dataslate and was wondering how people use him. Whenever a character has as many special rules as him it makes me want to try and find a use for him.

I was thinking about putting him in a blob for infiltrate and shrouded but I think the best use for him is in a Wolf star.
Below is a sample list that let's the Wolf star use tigirius for invisibility shenanigans.

I've run Cypher in his special formation alongside my Khorne Daemonkin army. I infiltrate him and one squad of Chosen with plasma guns (that's all of his formation I take), and use them to provide some heavy firepower against TEQ. I managed to nail a D-thirster this way once.

I like taking him with chosen, but he can go without. He is great with anything though, and I like his model too. No downsides.

Just FYI, but Infiltrate is not confered to the unit. He cannot infiltrate a unit with him. Rather, they deploy on the table and then you infiltrate Cypher next to them. HOWEVER, he isn't actually joined to the unit until the end of your Movement phase.

You can infiltrate up to 3 units of Chosen with Cypher.
I've had best luck infiltrating him in a squad of Chosen with 3 melta guns, 2 Flamers, and a champ with Claw/Fist combo.
That unit has created some major damage against my enemies when I've been able to infiltrate them out of LoS.
Last game I played, that unit shredded 2- 10 man tac squads and a few tanks.

That's because of the formation, not because of cypher
