Its been, often, these threads never last long compared to the worst one, its quite annoying when you think about it.
Personally, I am 10/10 fan of Scions for 40k Greatswords for Fantasy and DKoK Grenadiers for FW.

For 40k, I'd say the void raven bomber. Generally the Dark Eldar range is quite superb. Either that or the humble tau drone, be it gun/marker/shield/funky-gimmick. The little round discs seem to be the 40k equivalent of astromech droids from star wars.
For WHFB/AoS I'd nominate the Bretonnian Grail or Questing knights, they ooze character. Just don't go to Camelot, tis a silly place.
For FW: I'd say the carmine dragon due to its posing.

40K wise for me it'd be Ork storm boyz or if its a single model, Kaptin Badrukk as they are both oozing with character.
For Fantasy, its either Gorbad Ironclaw or this guy not sure why but he just looks badass.
FW wise, its either the Biker Warboss or their more recent Solar Auxilia Veletaris Storm Sections.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that. |

I am a 40k player first and foremost, but I love minis from all gw's ranges.
I would have to say that the best miniatures of all time were probably the Perry brothers lord of the rings sculpts. They were realistic in scale, and most look like the actors from the films.
My favorite gw stuff of all time are:
1: hard to find metal balrog with the whip
2: smaug.... best and most detailed damned mini (if you could call it a miniature) I have ever bought from gw. Its better than my forgeworld stuff!

Always loved the plastic nob, loota, dakkajet, and stormboyz kits. The boyz kit would be too but I can't stand that broken spine look they have. Wish they could stand up straight like their nob brethren

In terms of plastic kits, probably the flagellant kit for sheer conversion utility. For single models, either the Solar Auxillia Strategos or the up-coming Medicae detachment.

Devastating Dark Reaper

Can't really pick a nr1 favourite, but I'll tell you the stuff I really like:
Eldar Wraithlord: Love this model, looks especially wicked with the ghostglaive.
Sevrin Loth: Best psyker model for the space marines if you ask me, and his honour guard are lovely too.
The Dark Eldar Range: The only exceptions to this rule for me are the court of the archon and the most recent archon (too static). Apart from that, I think it's one of the best armies GW has done, and just makes me wish they'd revive the SoB in the same way!
Here's hoping this thread can go further than the 'Worst Models' one, a bit of positivity is always nice!

I have several favorites (listed in no particular order):
The new Bloodthirster: All the variants are great, but my particular favorite is the one with the D-axe.
Nephilim Jetfighter: Possibly the best model in the Dark Angels range, and one of the few Imperial flyers that looks like it might actually be able to fly (instead of hanging in the air the way bricks don't).
The new Assassin models: I wish I had a set of these, the sculpts are awesome!
Most of the AoS Stormcast Eternals range: Boy was I glad to get a free one with that White Dwarf a while back! They are really cool!
Tau Ghostkeel Battlesuit: Way cooler looking than the Stormsurge, I really want one!
Sammael on Corvex: 'nuff said! Again, this one is sadly just on my wish list, but come Christmas...

This is a tough choice GW does produce really nice models but if I had to pick, I would choose the following:
40K: Ork Nobz. These guys are easy to assemble, have lots of options and look badass.
Fantasy/AoS: Bretonnian Knights of the Realm. They have all the knightly vibe you can wish for and take me back to my love for arthurian legends. Considering the age of this kit, this is quite impressive.
Lord of the Ring/Hobbit: The Dark Marshal Nazgul or Sauron himself.

I only play 40k, but I really like that interrogator chaplain with smoke roiling out of censors. Also, the inquisitor sitting in the big throne.
EDIT: Also the new assasins that came out, I love the dynamic nature.

Pulsating Possessed Chaos Marine

Overall, the dark elves metal range from 6th Fantasy edition (Corsairs, Black Guard and Executioners).
Regarding 40k alone, the current plastic Raptors / Warp Talons kit. Abaddon, even without arms. Metal Vostroyans and Mordian Iron Guard. The Sisters of Battle range, although I'm not really attached to the army itself, the models are just lovely. Also have a soft spot for the Sanguinor.
From FW, the Chaos Dreadnoughts (World Eaters is my favourite). Some of the Chaos Contemptors too. Krieg Comissars. Chaos Dwarves aren't half bad either, specially the dwarven infantry (not really sold on the centaurs though).

GW customers deserve every bit of outrageous princing they get. |
