Just curious what all you creatively-minded folks are doing this year for Halloween costumes. Please only post stuff for this year (unless it's to explain a theme, or year-on-year embellishments, etc.)

Moderators- if this thread already exists somewhere, please feel free to move this post.

Here's mine:

I'm too busy running this to be doing a costume. I've mostly gone as cheap storemade costumes before though.

A few years back my brother used a longcoat and a real pumpkin he carved out to make a Dismounted Headless horseman costume. I'll see if I can drag up some pics but I doubt it.

I was wondering.. Is Halloween so much of a society phenomenon in the US that everyone gets a costume, celebrate, etc ?
Because here it's just a good excuse for kids to get candies (and be annoying), nothing else.

Maybe not everyone, but it's pretty popular, certainly at least until college age (because it's an excuse to party).

This is the pre-fatguy-in-red-suit practice run over here.

It's definitely a bigger deal here than what I remember from the UK, unless things changed recently.

I don't get involved.

I have a Captain America costume hanging around somewhere, and an old black cloak and lightsaber. Wouldn't be too hard to Sith-it-up in preparation for the awesome upcoming holiday as well.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Wasn't sure what I wanted to be so I made something up. Just graduated from college and still have my black robe, so I bought a lightsaber and a crown and BOOM! I am King of all Jedi!

I'm going as Angry Neighbor this year. I'm going to sit on my front porch and yell at kids of get off my lawn, throwing candy at the little ones.

All while smoking a cigar, drinking bourbon, and playing "Free Bird" on loop as loud as possible.

It's on the rise in the UK for some reason. Personally, I prefer waiting until Nov 5th to indulge in a bit of this:

Well, it's a Celtic celebration after all. Here it became Toussaint, which is much, much more depressing than happy kids, candies and jack o' lanterns.

Yeah. I might put my gas mask on, wear a long coat and scare some kids.

Except that kids these days aren't afraid of anything.

Well, the stereotypical American tourist is fat, obnoxious, and wears either a horrible Hawaiian shirt or a Star-Spangled Banner T-shirt .

(And he's with his obnoxious wife and his obnoxious kids, of course)
