Hi,
I'm writing a book and was wondering if anyone could tell me the fluff behind Tau-sublight engines. Do they actually produce thrust and energy or do they just jump/beam/transport matter across space at sub-luminal speeds? I'd like to try to use them to stop a planets rotation.

Also, do Tau Railguns work with magents that greatly accelerate solid slugs or is it another mechanic that is supposedly behind it?

Thanks

Tau use a gravity system. They make a gravity "sheath" around the vessel, that shoots it forward, somehow. It's not very well explained. I'll see if I can dig up my BFG stuff to give you some quotes.

As far as rail weapons, it's assumed they work the same as regular ones.

Thanks Shas, for railguns, I would assume so as well. However, you never know.

And it sounds like the Tau use the same system as the Tyranids. Or near enough for government work.
