Hi guys,

I wanted to see what everyone thought about this? I am using the Poe shenanigans to get the 3 actions per turn with some support in the forms of B-Wings. I threw in a Z-95 to fill points, but was thinking I might drop it to add cannons to the B's.

Poe Needs Autothrusters. I also prefer R2-D2 or R5-P9 with him. Although he is really mobile with BB-8, I love how durable he is with the other two. I'd say drop the Weapons guidance (you want to camp focus to defend), and downgrade the B-wings to Fire Control system (I find it more useful on Blues anyways). This gives you enough points for the changes I'm suggesting.

Keep PTL or change up the EPT for something else?

Is this going to be a new meta? One ace with a bunch of generics? Or was it very Wave 1?

Imo you should have just swapped weapons guidance for auto thrusters.

Ive played the **** out of Poe since his release, and find PTL + BB-8 a far better option than R5-P9

It's gone in and out of favor, but it's almost always been a thing. The runner up at Worlds last year used a Whisper + mini-TIE swarm list and the winner was a Fat Han + mini-Z-95 swarm

I've played it too and it is fun... until you have to fly against a PS 9 ace like Fel, Vader, Wedge, or Whisper. Higher PS and shield regeneration is better better in the end game than being out-PS'd and getting a barrel roll. It turns Poe into an end game monster nearly on the same level as Corran with R2-D2.

Those three actions (without evade) don't mean gak when you're getting arc dodged and can't regenerate shields.

Competitively, Poe with R5-P9 and VI will always be better than Poe with PTL and BB-8. Is the latter build more fun? Absolutely, multiple action shenanigans are always fun. However, getting a range 1 shot at an ace before it can fire back is even more fun.

How about pairing that r5-P9 Poe with a PTL Corran, it leaves enough point for a Bandit. That's two strong ships and a fodder.

Exactly. Poe, even with BB-8 tricks, doesn't have the sheer pile of defensive tokens and PS 9+ arc dodging ability that Fel/Vader/etc depend on to survive. You've got one less green die and no evade action so those shots that Fel/Vader/etc avoid completely are going to be taking off precious HP that you can never get back. But with shield regen you bring your durability back up to the level of the other aces and actually have a chance of winning a long fight. It's why PTL Corran is so ridiculously good, after several turns of exchanging fire you're still at full HP and your opponent has lost another ship.

I want to try this list whenever I get the new starter set. Poe with lone wolf, R5, autothrusters, and Corran with PTL, R2, FCS, engine. I've been having a lot of fun with Corran + Miranda, and the Corran + Poe version of the double regen ship concept looks like it might have some potential.

If you use VI on Poe, then you have enough points left over for a Chaardan Prototype pilot. If not, then it has to be a Z-95.

Alrighty, I think this would be fun. I went with an A-Wing rather than a Z-95 because of the extra evade dice.

The shield upgrade needs to be an engine upgrade.

I agree. The extra mobility will be needed. R2-D2 refreshes shields, so have 4 is not as necessary.

Drop the title on Kyle and Outmaneuver on Jake. Use those points to give Jake Proton Rockets and Veteran Instincts instead. Jake at PS 7 is as good dead against other aces and a fully modified five dice Procket can ruin someone's day in a hurry.

Also, my friend uses this list to great effect. I did manage to beat him with my Moralo + two TLT Ys list, but it could have gone either way.

Yes, mine when I fail to roll more than 2 hits.

I have become wary of any ordnance aside from bombs.

I also agree with you Mathieu, I dont like paying for a single use item on my ships. I like things that can be used multiple times.

Normally this is a decent rule, but there are some exceptions* and prockets on a-wings are one of them. They're actually pretty consistent since you're throwing five dice with focus and target lock, and the a-wing desperately needs a way to hurt high-agility targets that its primary weapon can barely even annoy. Soontir Fel can mostly just ignore Tycho/Jake without prockets. Soontir Fel tends to explode in one shot when they have prockets.

*Bombs and the scum one-shot upgrades are the most common exceptions.

It was a great game and it was nice to see Paul win again. Paul is a local player in my area and luckily I've never had to face him in a tournament!
