I feel like i know a lot about the iron warriors, i mean i read their siege of Castellax and storm of iron, (i need you guys as a side note to tell me other iron warriors books that i can read, maybe the one that follows storm of iron?) but i am now rebuilding my army from scratch after stripping their paint of and going iron warriors, so my question is what units do the iron warriors use religiously, this is what i have from my list so far:

medusa seige cannon (because this army will try to be competitive, and basilisks arent at all competitive)
horde of cultists
obliterators
rhinos
small squads of space marines
a warpsmith with a flamer chosen unit
terminator lord with a proxy hammer
....
so ya thats that thx guys for the suggestions

Basically look into some of the chaos forgeworld stuff. Typhon Siege Tank. Sicaran. Things like that

Several Iron Warriors books (Angel Exterminatus, Storm of Iron) mention "Thunderstrike artillery" which I think is a Rhino with a Earthshaker cannon

Storm of iron also had large static guns that needed massive rock gun batteries built into the soft earth.

There artillery is pretty varied. Some possessed, but they never lack guns of shells.

The kinda follow on book from Storm of Iron is Dead Sky, Black Sun and then Honsou features in a few from there on in the Ultramarines series.

Basilisks might be a bit mneh, but ally in some heavy ordinance from IA13, which has really cheap immobile artillery.

They are expensive to actually buy, good luck with that.

Maybe not if you converted some ww2 artillery, soviet may suit the more 40k style.

I found the barrels looked a bit too small, but that was my best guess.

I did never get around to doing it, but Seige mortars would be easier to convert.

agh, i just thought the heavier designs on some models fitted the setting quite well, big, simple and durable to a fault.

Maybe some Khorne Beserkers? Obviously decked out with less khorne and more iron.
Iron Warriors, despite being artillery artists, like to engage in full on cc assaults.

You can make your own typhon using a Big Momma Cannon from Puppetswar and a Land Raider.

**Deadshot**

Vindicators or Typhon Siege Tanks would be perfect for Iron Warriors.

Run them as heresy era Iron warriors under the LACAL. Legion artillery tank squad, legion vindicator, havok squads, tyrant siege terminators, rapier quad mortars. All the toys, plus actual proper rules for the sons of olympia.
