Why do Orks wear pants? Some even have loin guards (MANz). Orks reproduce via spores, so it's not like they have anything to hide or protect. Do they wear them because they believe that they convey an armour save (like their t-shirts)? Are there Ork tailors, or do they just loot their clothes off of IoM?

Yes I realize these are silly questions. Feel free to reply with silly answers.

I actually had a similar question the other day - who are the Ork tailors? Who makes pants for grots?

Actually, there's been many a Ork Nob that has wanted to topple the leader of the Orkish textile industry - the crafty Warboss Kalrog Kline.

Well, for the same reason you wear a shirt of course, to keep your body warm! No Ork wants to be cold just because he forgot his pants.

More Likley it's because when GW modeled orks back in the 70s and 80s they weren't allowed to have naked (or lower half naked) men. Orks are humanoid in shape - close enough to humans and obviously male. Having them without pants - heartless of anatomy depicted or not would have been met with problems and cries of indecency. Especially considering it's a game marketed to children. It's the same reason why animated animals will often have clothing of some kind. Mickey Mouse wears pants, Donald has a shirt, etc. Many of these characters that "look" close to human have clothing - even though it makes no sense. Its the same for shows like Star Trek - aliens would have diffirent anatomy or even diffirent culture - so clothing may have been optional or diffirent. But because it's a TV show and they look human (2 arms 2 legs, head, body) they have to wear clothing that covers certain parts. Waist to knees for men - waist to thigh and chest area for women. Call it censorship if you want. But the trend continues because if Gw suddenly changed tak and made orcs without pants - some parents somewhere would be annoyed and loud enough to cause gw serious issues. Easier to just avoid it by keeping models clothed, and not displaying any overly agressive sexual attributes.

As is the answer to every question of "who does this boring or menial tasks in ork society" - grots do it. Possibly as slaves, but most likely as a business, because it's a way to earn a few teef by doing somefing da boyz don't feel like doing. Being useful (and maybe even modestly rich if you're a clever grot) keeps you from being rounded up as cannon fodder!

Though Bloodletter bulges are fine.

The orks wear pants cause its what makes them smart.
The less clothes you wear as an ork, the more savage you are.
Every ork knows that.

Blood letters are fine beacause of the double jointed legs and horned heads. It's enough of a diffirence to set them as "beasts" instead of human.

Also the models are much newer both in concept and design and model design.

In the warp, searching for Marbo

Well, orks have nipples. Why, they have no purpose on them.

Would it be to much of a jump to assume that they also have penises even if there's no purpose to it?

Maybe it just so we don't see their ugly ork butts. I remember a comic where an ork was coming out of an out house. This would at least tell us that they're concerned with modesty, unless their doing something else in there that we don't know about.

After all these years of searching for Marbo...he found me. Heretics beware! He's back!

He pales in comparison to the true leader of the Orks, though - ZUGORK BOSS!

The real question is who is that devilishly consistent ork shoemaker? They make every pair of boots perfectly the same.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"
