Just looking for some confirmation. Is it possible for a charging unit to slip inbetween a screening unit's models and get into melee with the more valuable "screened" unit? Assuming they are within charge range and you don't lose unit coherence?

I don't think there is any problem here, assuming the models fit.

My interpretation (might be wrong) is that you cannot move within 3 inches of an enemy without engaging them. So no you can't shoot the gaps, however you could still attack the other unit if your weapons are within range of the rear unit.

The rules just state that a unit must be within 12" of an enemy unit, but not within 3", and that they must end their charge within 1/2" of an enemy model (also, must be within 1" of each other, as per the unit cohesion rule). I'd say you can charge through a screening unit, if there is enough space to do so, but not walk through them. However, the unit cohesion rules will prevent you from behaving in the manner suggested in the image, as the models would be more than 1" from each other.

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: What Sqorgar said.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

You can, but I have no idea why anyone would leave those gaps for you to charge through though! Unless you shot some of them first.
