Depends. Are you looking for tactics? How to start them? I'm going to assume it's the latter. So first off you want to get a general idea of what kind of force you want to run. Coven? Kabalite? Wych Cult? A mix? From there you can start picking out units to buy and paint. I'm getting into DE as well, and the first thing I did was decide on what kind of force I wanted to run (Kabalite/Wych Cult)

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Coven. Focusing heavily on pain engines with deep striking grots and a kitted out haemy.

I am also looking into starting DE. My main sticking point is the cost associated. It seems that for DE to be competitive you need to go the MSU route, with at least 6 transports.

If you are going the Coven route, I imagine that you will go for that Talos formation. I would start there, and work backwards. Also, the Talos kit appears to have lots of spare parts, my plan is to combine them with an old Wraith Lord to make 2 Pain Engines from the one Talos kit.

How much money are you willing to drop on this, or is that a dumb question?

Boosting Black Templar Biker

I've played more games against DE then any other army (this is based on last Edition mind you).

My mate runs a lot of raiders with Kalabites, a couple of venoms with Wyches, and a raider with Incubi + Warlord as a base for all his lists.

Very fast, very dakka, very bloody annoying.

Venoms. Lots of venoms. 12 shots per turn. Plus the guys in back. A 5 man warrior squad with blaster riding a venom can be pretty effective. And cheap. So you can have lots.

Avoid wyches.

A wwp character with a really strong snooty unit can be awsome. Don't take combat with the portal. You'll come in and the stand there to get shot up. But come in with a bunch of blasters - make something go away.

Raiders with splinter racks and warriors can also be really good fast moving dakka boats

Maybe jet bikes? Haven't used em Latley so not sure. Perhaps Allie with eldar or harlequins to get a neat all bike army

The bomber is pretty awsome from what I hear.

Ravagers less impressive in new book

Never played the covens end of things but I hear its fun. I never liked it tho.
