I'm trying to plot out a fleet for an X-Wing scenario.

I'm playing Scum and Villainy, hiding in an asteroid base, in an asteroid field with 2 prisoners, one rebel, one Imperial.
Got an Imperial fleet led by a Raider coming at me on one short table edge of a 6' by 3'. A rebel fleet led by a CR90 coming at me on the other.

I've got about 350 points to play with, rebels have about the same, plus the base costs of the Corvette's for free (Sadly, my asteroid base is only worth about half a corvette).
Needless to say, I've to defend the base. Seems a tiny bit unfair, but the victory conditions are in my favour... A little. Maybe. I hope...

So the question is, what shenanigans can I perform?

My first thought is something like this:

Talonbane Cobra [Predator, Glitterstim, Engine Upgrade] (37)
Hired Gun [Bomb Loadout, Ion Cannon Turret, Unhinged Astromech, BTL-A4 Y-Wing, Proximity Mines] (29)
Hired Gun [Bomb Loadout, Ion Cannon Turret, Unhinged Astromech, BTL-A4 Y-Wing, Proximity Mines] (29)
Hired Gun [Bomb Loadout, Twin Laser Turret, Unhinged Astromech, Cluster Mines] (31)
Hired Gun [Bomb Loadout, Twin Laser Turret, Unhinged Astromech, Conner Net] (31)
IG88-B [Push the Limit, Advanced Sensors, “Mangler” Cannon, IG-2000, Autothrusters] (48)
IG88-C [Push the Limit, Advanced Sensors, “Mangler” Cannon, IG-2000, Autothrusters] (48)
Latts Razzi [Weapons Engineer , K4 Security Droid, Hound's Tooth] (45)
Torkhil Mux [Twin Laser Turret, Intelligence Agent] (26)
Black Sun Soldier (13)
Black Sun Soldier (13)

To be honest, I'm having to beg/borrow a Twin Laser Turret for the HWK-290, so that might end up getting replaced with 2 more Z-95's.

I kind of have one thought of shenanigans of, starting my fleet apparently spread out, defending both sides, with all my Y-Wings defending against, say, the Imperial fleet. First turn, all the Y-Wings fly forward, say, 1. Second turn, all the Y-Wings do a K-Turn. 3rd turn, Y-Wings backtrack and drop their mines. Hopefully by then, we're starting to mix it up in a fight and we don't have the situation which happened in our last big game.

- The rebels were defending that time, they flew out to meet the other two fleets, got wiped out because it was 200 pts a side VS 400 pts. Hopefully if the engagement area is closer to the (now mined) base, things will go better for me.

I'm thinking, considering the ranges involved, I'm probably better hitting the rebels with my forces, rather than the Imperials early game.

Didn't read all of your post. Reckon you have this covered...

I... didn't have it covered.

It turns out, having 2 fleets flying at a static position, while all your ships move every turn is... A problem.

My cluster bomb Y-Wing got TIE Interceptor'ed on turn 1 - 4 of them!

IG-88c and Talonbane got squished by the CR-90. All my Y-Wings got hunted down by interceptors, my Z-95's got taken out by rebel Y-Wings and my only surviving model was the Hound's Tooth flying behind enemy lines.

Final Score was: Rebels 268, Imperials 210, Scum 94

In a word, ouch. - Methinks the scenario needed some tweaking.

That sounds like a amazing game. To be honest the S&V really shouldn't stand a chance. Just see how many you can't take with you.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

My mate actually just released a time lapsed video of the game.

Come see my poor bounty hunters get picked on.

Bathing in elitist French expats fumes

Just seeing those two big ships coming your way made me feel queezy. When the movement dials appear, it is overwhelming how many red dials were coming your way.

Maybe use the mine tokens from some of the expansion packs to already have mines in play and only face one opponent at a time?

Maybe I'm not understanding the OP correctly, but were you basically playing the same points per Faction, but with you facing off against two factions at the same time? I mean, I can't imagine that the Rebels and the Imperials fought each other all that much in this scenario.

In a word, yup, pretty much. I had kinda hoped that the victory conditions would help but it basically ended up being easier for the Imperials to blow up the asteroid base and let it go down to victory points, even with the various negatives incurred for doing that.
