What colour is bare Wraithbone?

I'm looking to make a couple chipped and weathered Eldar, and Dark Eldar things, but I'm not sure if their vehicles are painted, or if they just grow different coloured Wraithbone.

Check out images of injured bone would be my suggestion. It would be an interesting take on things!

Check out some clips from Dawn of War as you can see some damaged/mid-construction wraithbone constructs in that game.

Not sure if this has ever been strictly stated in the fluff, but my understanding is that Wraithbone is a "magic" material that can do whatever the writer wants it to do. I paint my wraithbone like bone, but I can't think of any reason that the bone singers could just tell the wraithbone to grow whatever way they want it to.

I believe it is generally described as white or ivory (like bone) but I see no reason why it could not be any other color. Being a psy-reactive plastic material, there's all sorts of psychic-related reasons it could be any other color.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Wraithbone is not actually bone in any way whatsoever. Wraithbone is a psychoactive material that can be modified by eldar with the psy that all eldar possess. Wraithsingers are just much much better at it. This means wraithbone is actually a meta material if you are into science, ie it can take on different states and properties while still being wraithbone. thus why wraithbone can be armour, weapons, ammo, space ship hulls, the muscle and skeleton of wraith constructs, and even the texture and color can be changed. Heck wraith bone can even made to have chameleon properties.

From what I understand of the fluff wraithbone is a lot like a computer program. A skilled programmer can add subroutines into the wraithbone which can then be triggered with the proper commands. Soul crystals are essentially both the batter and hard drive for wraith constructs, thus why all the armour, weapons, and vehicles have those gems on them. Those things are storing the subroutines for the armour to react to gun shots or the gun to form ammo and shoot. This is also a good explanation for why eldar are not as powerful as they used to be. Essentially all their programers (singers) constantly have an annoying jerk shouting in their ear all the time (Slaanesh).

BTW unused wraithbone has usually been described as crystalline in appearance and tends to form tree like growths from what I remember of the fluff.

So, what I'm hearing right now, is that battle damage on the hull of a Venom or armor of Wrathguard would just look like gouges in a block of plastic?

That's why it is more exciting to go for a more organic look of actual bone (IMO).

My guess is white-ish is its normal color, but it can be whatever color its shaper wants it to be.

I think DE use materials that the other races use, e.g. plastics, metals, and ceramics

If DE have forsaken their psychic powers, they cannot work wraithbone.
So, their only option is to use conventional materials.
