Liked this guy enough to post him by his lonesome. He scored second in a recent halloween contest. The base is all sculpted except the lamp. (Notes)

Thanks!

Mikhal, a short version...

-get all the basic colors in place
-approximate where the shadows are with thin dark grey/black opposite the light
-by color (i.e. skin, cloth), add red then orange then yellow until the color is pretty warm but there's a lot of the original left
-refine the shadows, find any new places, blend so there's a little area that's pretty close to the original still
-start adding more highlights: the big thing to avoid is any white or pure yellow: these should only be on the lantern. Everything else has grey or off-white in the highlights

I'm trying to work through a longer one with at least a few pics on another mini, but for the moment it's something that's kind of fluid, so has been hard to document well...

Wow, that is an incredible piece of work.

And, one of the most original concepts I have seen in a long time.

Beautiful design and painting. You see a lot of OSL these days, but it's almost never as good as this!

I lurk this forum to find inspirational stuff like this.

Awesome work! OSL is so difficult and so many attempts look MEH but this one really shines.
