In the BRB you cannot place a fortification outside of your deployment zone. Seeing as how the Escape is an upgrade for say a Bastion, can the Escape Hatch be deployed outside of the Deployment Zone before the game starts?
Appreciate any help.

you're not placing a fortification, you're placing a marker.

Perfectly legal, and a good strategy to move a unit an extra 12" across the board at the start of the game. Of course, they won't be able to assault first turn since they will have disembarked from a Building, but that extra move might be nice.

Actually you can assault on the turn you leave building. Escape Hatches specify that you can't assault if you use it

Is this a change? Buildings count as Vehicles with some different rules. You can't assault the turn you disembark from a Vehicle unless it has the Assault special rule or is Open-Topped. Am I missing something?
