Hey Dakka! So I have been waiting for the Tau to be updated in order to start a tournament winning list. This is what I have so far and please note that I am not a tournament player up to this point but wish to start being more comepetive and travel. I only have a few models assembeled(1 xv88, 10 new FireWarriors w/sms turrent, 1 buffmander, 3 xv25 suits) so I have alot of room to change my list. My local tournament scene is 2000 point house rules tournament every other month with a good mix of armies and on average 15 players. I would like to travel to larger events to try my hand at the big leagues and meet new people.

So, What do ya'll think? I believe that I will play it with the Shadowsun with bodyguards teaming up with the Stealth Cadre to really make a mess of the opponents advancing units. The Riptide, Hammerhead, and Misslemander(with bodyguards) will take long shots at priority targets, knights, wraithknights, and units coming in from reserve. The Firewarriors I don't really know how to play them exactly in this list. I may need to take out the SMS turrents and drop one unit to give them more mobility via Devilfishs. Let me know what y'all think about that. I know that I WILL be feilding at least two units of FW though. Thanks again and I hope everyone in the U.S. is enjoying Thanksgiving and the rest of the world is having a wonderful Thursday!

Thanks
Reagan

No thoughts? I as thinking about replacing the 3 strike teams on foot with 2 breacher teams in devilfishs.

With your 4 man path finder squads you'll find they'll often run first chance they get due to one casualty being 25% i would bolster their numbers and throw a Sargent in there its will be well worth your while. I often play tau so i know the units i'm scared of. i haven't played a ghostkeel yet but broadsides are scary. the range and mass of TW fire they spit is a nasty sight. They would probably be a best bet than you're bodyguard squad IMO, EWO is underwhelming mainly due to lack of markerlights when it goes off ending in very inaccurate fire and usually it is shrugged off pay the extra points and get a velocity tracker. Yes the idea of interceptor is nice but in practice i've not seen it do anything to my venoms/raiders which it should be i think.

Again with the leadership your strike teams will run as soon as they start taking fire, if you're not sold on giving Sargents to each squad an ethereal bubble is a good idea also the invocation of the elements is a nice little bonus. If you're using an aggressive buffmander squad i recommend iridium armour, for tanking wounds the added toughness really helps mitigate the ID wounds. But i think you're on to something here
