In this thread I'll be sticking all the finished stuff from my HH project, partly to keep it all in one place and party as motivation to keep the quality up; if it's going in showcase, I tend to take more care when painting and photographing than the regular updates in my blog. Said blog will still chart the day-to-day progress of the project, while this thread will be updated periodically with completed squads and centrepiece models.

The plan is to build a Shattered Legions force, featuring Iron Hands, Salamanders and Raven Guard, and style-wise, expect plenty of weathering, battle damage and customisation of minis and paintschemes, from scavenged armour parts to full-on resculpts of poses further down the line. Anyway, enough preamble, on with the pics!

First up, we have a Salamanders Veteran Sergeant, equipped with Bolter and Chainsword and set to lead the more static of the three Veteran Squad in my initial list, hence the more defensive pose.

Next is the squad's Legion Vexilla bearer, a Raven Guard with a scavenged Emperor's Children shoulder pad:

And finally for now, an Iron Hand veteran toting a plasmagun:

The three together, the start of something much bigger:

As with all my painting exploits, any feedback is more than welcome, thanks for looking, and I'll update this thread when the first Demi-squad is finished.

Nicely done! I'll be keeping an eye on this, even though I don't play 30k this is just too cool to ignore!

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Thanks! The first half of the first squad is now finished!

An Iron Hand lobbing a grenade:

And a Basic Bolter and Bayonet Brother Salamander, with 'borrow' Night Lords shoulder pad:

The whole Demi-squad. To come, 2 more Ravens, 2 more Hands and 1 more Salamander

Thanks for looking!

Love the idea and like the gritty look. But could you work on the camera focus?

Thanks both. I've just got hold of a newer camera than the one I was using, so between not having a tripod for it yet and still finding my way around the settings, the focus is a bit off in some shots. As I get more familiar with it, that should be less of a problem.
