Hey, so this is the first time ive used weathering powders. Im using MIG weathering fixative liquid to stick it down. Works quite well. My mistake was using the horrible pinky orange "Light Rust" coloured powder on it.
I love the dirt, but the rust has wrecked it for me.
Can I cover the rust with more dirt?

I'm not just being kind, that looks fine to me. Having seen a lot of old junked planes that sit out in the rain, rust really isn't far off that colour. Hell, sometimes it's salmon pink.
I think you are suffering from a case of Having Stared At This Goddamn Model Too Long. This is genuinely not a bad look.
However if you loathe it, try washing the powder with some sepia or earthshade.

I would be VERY careful about washing the tank, since it probably won't look right on top of the powder. Test this on some scrap plastic before you commit to doing it on a tank.
And I'll echo the idea that it looks just fine to me. It might not be the exact thing you're looking for (a valid reason to change it, of course) but it doesn't look bad.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

Typhus corrosion is always my tool of choice to correct weathering that went wrong but it does add a layer to it. Definitely test it.
Tank looks good imho too but I know that colors in photos look very different in reality.

While I've no experience with weathering powder and can't provide information on what to do with that regard...
I want to echo that it looks fine. I looked at the first picture and thought it was the prep for "this is what it looked like" followed by something horrible, but no. As Buttery said it looks quite natural, I don't see anything even remotely amiss.

It looks fine to me as well and as was pointed out, real rust comes in quite a number of different colors.
You could also take a stippling brush and some dry pigment of a darker color and apply it directly over the areas you don't like; it should tone the color down a little bit.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I've taken your advice and haven't looked at it for a solid few days. I think ill attempt to tone the rust down with some stippling and/or washes. I don't hate it anymore, but I am gonna attempt to carefully tweak it a little bit. Wish me luck haha.
