Every once and a while, someone starts a thread to ask what. As this is the holiday season, and I am bored, seems like now is as good a time as another.

Given that the last couple years had releases for Harlequins, Admech, stormtroopers, Nagash, and Warhammer 30k, Specialist Games are coming back, and there are persistent rumors of Genestealer cults, I am not sure what is left to wish for, but I am sure that as gamers, we can either find some deep cut army that has not been catered to lately, or be disappointed in one of the above releases and want them replaced posthaste. In addition the explosion of the Warhammer world no doubt has upset many of the wish lists of many gamers, and ignited new interest in plastic fantasy for others. [I for one no longer care much about a new High Elf plastic infantry box]

So bring on your top five kits you wish GW made in plastic.

i felt like painting the other day and was sick of power armor so i was looking at some fantasy stuff and other than the dark elves I already have semi painted everything just looks so 'ten years ago', like pick any humanoid troop box and they just look hella awkward. Most 40k stuff atleast looks up to date so my answer: moar fantasy

Bottle's list is pretty good. I always wish that Inquisitor 28mm rumored game hadn't been a hoax.

40k isn't missing a lot these days. I suppose if I wanted anything, it would be to get rid of any of those ancient kits they have bouncing around (Ork warbuggies, I'm looking at you). Then Sisters of Battle and Inquisitors (allow again, a game to go with the inquisitors would be even better).

After that, well Specialists Games could use all the plastic GW can pump out. I'm not sure what 40k really needs that isn't already out-of-scale with the game it's supposed to represent (Knight kits are cool and all, but we're getting into Epic territory now). So Blood Bowl, Mordheim, and Epic- I'd probably invest in all three to be honest.

2. Dual kit tankbustas/commandos
3. Ork Warboss with multiple options for mega-armour and different weapons.
4. Greatcoat IG regiment plastic infantry kit, preferably Armageddon steel legion.
5. Plastic Havocs/Chosen dual kit. That or an all-in-one box for Sisters of Battle similar to Grey Knights.

#1 Genestealer hybrid box, say five of them, all different and with a few posable options, various arm combinations to model 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation plus a range of weapons.

#2 Genestealer hybrid command, patriarch, familiars and two different 4th level hybrids.

(obviously some rules as well)

#3 Ork vehicle looting kit - two or three spures of various bits, vehicle crew, weapons, spare wheels, spiky bits and general gubbins to work with most other vehicle kits with various amounts of green stuff for the greenies to use

(again some better rules to allow looting of specific vehicle types)

#4 Plastic Squigs, with a few riders and handler goblins in the box, ideally say ten squigs, four handlers and four riders (simply to avoid a lot of repetition in the riders), maybe one squig large enough to use as a character mount if desired.

(and rules for squids in 40k...)

#5 Plastic Hirodule kit, able to make either type

Mixed bag but had a bit of a head scratch to think of what I'd buy or what I'd buy if it was in plastic and not what it currently is. Yes #3 can be done with plastic and a bits box, but the crew models and various wheels and weapons with vehicle mounts would be oh so much easier.

C'mon GW, you really can't make this in plastic, charge a bucket load AND make some game breaking rules for it????

Though Orks could really do with a new warbuggy kit.

With the exception of the Bleakswords/Dreadspears/Darkshards kit, all of the Dark Elf plastics are right around two years old.

As for what I would like to see in plastic, I'd like to see Necron Canoptek Acanthrites, Tomb Stalker/Sentinel and Tesseract Ark

As a purely bit of wishlisting, rather than something I seriously expect GW to ever do, I would wish for GW to bring back some of their old plastic kits. Give me the old Rogue Trader era kits: RTB01 "Beaky" Space Marines, Orks, Imperial Guard, the old Land Raider and Predators, etc.

GW will never, ever, make that one. Basically because Wargames Factory did it first. And the models are good and cheap enough that anything GW produces won't be able to compete.

As far as I'm concerned, 40k Chaos Chosen. Just follow the aesthetic of the Dark Vengeance chosen and they will sell like hotcakes.

Progress is like a herd of pigs: everybody is interested in the produced benefits, but nobody wants to deal with all the resulting gak.

GW customers deserve every bit of outrageous princing they get.

That's just the thing I was going to mention, though. New elf spearmen with proper hands and legs would've been nice for the last HE release, before the whole thing went kerblooey.

Although, as of twenty minutes ago, I've been getting some invaluable practise in sculpting scale armour.

(And to be honest, I'm kind of curious to see what the new aelves look like)

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

Sisters and Inquisition. There reluctance to do either has baffled me recently because both would be hot sellers. I don't know if i'd do a full sisters army but I'd pick up at least a squad or two. And an inquisitor kit similar to the space marine captain kit would fly off shelves.

Yeah this one too...

Well let me take a shot anyway...

Imperial Subjects - A set comperable to the Empire Milita or WGF's armed civilians with a diverse selection of Imperial laborers, nobles, scribes, gangers etc with tons of weapons and wargear options. Useful for IG conscripts, Inquisition Warbands, characters, dioramas etc.
Imperial Guard - any of the existing regiments, or a new one, but with value compterable to the Marine Tac squad or Empire Handgunners. ALL the special weapons, at least one heavy weapon, alternate heads, multiple poses etc.
And the opposite, a BIG box of 20 guardsmen, one piece riflemen in various poses, maybe with a choice of heads. Just the thing to get an IG army going.
Cultists - I like the Dark Revenge of Darkness and Vengence Cultists, now let's get them multipart with lots of options and rules for many weapons. Include zombie heads too! And Genestealer Hybrids! The Frostgrave kit goes a long way towards replacing this but hey there's always room for more!
Imperial Guard jeep - Actually I started designing something like this a while back, a jeep that comes with a hard top to become a staff car or can take a trailer to be a troop truck. Come on GW, TAKE MY MONEY!

And more generally, not just GW...

Grimdark guns and bitz - a kit of heroic cyborg bits, pouches, guns, heads etc to turn any modern, historical or fantasy kit into something from the Grim Darkness of the Far Future. There was a Kickstarter a while back that did not-bolters but they seem to have disappeared and in any case lacked the arms and heads idea. A lot of companies do this in resin, but it comes out to $1 or more per gun.
Crates, boxes and stowage - again there's resin and historical kits out there, I'd like something sci-fi and plastic.
Sci-Fi corridor walls - Something you can put down on a table to make a space hulk type maze. Deadzone might work for this, but I've not tried it. I don't think floors are needed.
Dungeon Walls - same idea, just reskinned.

And to wrap up some old wish list items...
WGF's survivors, both male and female are neat kits but are more realistically proportioned and have realistic weapons which make them look puny and compatible with a lot of other kits.
Dreamforge's kits from their towering Leviathans to their male and female infantry are great, though Mark's infantry kits lack diversity in poses, everyone is kinda holding their guns across their chests without aiming. I just got the strom trooper accessory set and hope it will fix some of that.
Still love those Pegasus Gothic sets, I wish they'd add more diversity to them, industrial walls, castle walls etc. Rendera's upcoming tower set might fill that gap.
Looking forward to Maelstrom's Edge's terrain kit. Panels, doors, windows we can just add to plastic card or foam core is an idea that's long overdue.
In the end, I want plastic kits that let me make my own figures, not just assemble someone else's vision. I apprecitate that 'action figure' type designs limit the number of poses and make figures stiff, but if you want an elaborate pose do it in resin or metal. If you're making a multipart plastic kit, make sure we can swap arms, heads, etc, and for heck's sake give us a lot of options! Every plastic kit should offer at least 2 head options per figure.

Anyway great idea for a thread, as you can see I have a long wish list.

Hard-Wired Sentinel Pilot

Usually somewhere in England

1. Multi-part blood bowl plastics (all teams) - starting with humans, skaven, chaos pact and necromantic. Also throw in lots of individual star player and big guy clampacks (at a decent price)! And then do all the rest!
2. Necromunda plastic gangs (all of them - multipart, with expansion characters, mercs etc)
3. Advanced heroquest to return with a big plastic filled box and loads of plastic expansion sets to build it up!
4. Imperial guard - no more giant heads and have a bigger range of regiments.
5. Inquisitor multi-part plastics - loads of options and an official inq28 game to use them in, with loads of new cultists, criminal gangs, henchmen, genestealer cults, deathwatch, rogue traders etc to include in them - all the good stuff not well supported in 40k currently, but full of imagination.
6. NEW games from games workshop (AFTER they've done all the above of course).

I think that would keep them going for a while...

A basics range that slashes the current pricing in half.
Think stuff like the old Aobr orks and marines and the 5 man termagaunt and guardsman boxes.
It should include push fit basically equipped squads of 5 or 10 models and simple 5-10 piece vehicles.
I'd certainly take a drop in detail and customizaton be able to bulk out my armies both quickly and cheaply.
I'm really not too fussed about internal detail/options on my rhinos, drop pods and chimera so if they could be squeezed onto half of the sprues at half of the price and take a fraction of the time to build I'd be buying them for every squad I own.
I'm sure that this sort of thing would go down well with the gaming community and for those looking to start/restart the hobby.
