So I find myself needing a 7th Leman Russ so I can go formation crazy and I cannot seem to decide which one I want! I currently have

4 LRBTs w/ a Vanquisher turret and an old school forge world Executioner turret
1 Exterminator
1 Siege tank with magnetizing for punisher, executioner, and demolisher

I currently run my LRBTs as eradicators these days, and whichever one I buy will be fully magentized. I cannot simply decide which one to get!

please dakkadakka, youre my only hope!

Personally, I really like the Exterminator. It is quite cheap, even with a LC, and pack a really nice firepower. It is very good against light amour and even aircraft if you have some luck!
The standard LRBT is also always a good choice I think.

- 22nd Rhayé Storm Division : 2000points (Spetsnaz-themed IG)

- Ordo Xenos : ~700pts

I've never regretted bringing another Exterminator.

Exterminators. I run a squadron of two of them and I intend to get a third. Those TL Autocannons will destroy most lighter vehicles easily and even AV 13 can be threatened with enough shots whilst Infantry tremble before its might. With a bit of luck (and enough Exterminators) even TEQ's can be dealt with.

Then I think it is decided! Plus Vanquishers are always fun at BS 4 with Lascannons and MM sponsons, especially when you have actual turrets and not some forgeworld conqueror hybrid monstrosity!

Thank you Dakkanaughts!

I am a fan of the LRBT, but when it comes down to it its not that cheap AND it makes it so you can't use sponson, one of the Russes greatest assets. If they could bring back the old lumbering behemoth rule or make all the main guns Primary Weapon then the old venerable LRBT would be back one top and loaded to bear with heavy bolters

Yes. It doesn't do anything of note that other variants do better.

In my region the Eradicator has all but eradicated the LRBT from serious use. I still use them myself since its a marine heavy area, and Basilisks aren't much better for the price (that was pre Mont'ka though) although I did develop a love for artillery carriages from forge world in the interim (and easy to convert too!). With the introductions of these new formations im really going to be able to get my Tread Head on and roll out the big tanks
