Anyone know of some good and hopefully cheap sources for Fantasy buildings? I’d like to build up a full down, kinda picturing something like a half ruined Laketown from the Hobbit movies, lots of buildings and alleys and places to hide.. for skirmish games like Mordheim. Preferably resin or better yet in plastic? I was looking at armorcast.com and may get a couple of their european style fantasy buildings. Anyone know of any others to consider?

Tabletop-world.com.

The best resin fantasy buildings available by a long way, but they are not cheap.

Yeah, I love Tabletop world, but their stuff is a little too pricy, and on top of that there's the overseas shipping too. I would probably add a couple of their kits eventually though, but I guess I want to start small and affordable for now.

Save yourself some money, buy a few Hirst Arts molds, a good high strength plaster or resin, and make your own buildings (the Village Molds would probably work best due to the mix of parts available).

I have a few of their molds.. I thought about doing that and still might, but I'm hoping to get some kits that that I can just build and paint and not get into casting stuff. I'd love to find some plastic kits of european style cottages and stuff but looks like I'm stuck with resin. Seems like even GW have cut down on their kits, they used to have a little sigmar chapel and a watchtower. They do have the Hobbit goblin town which I might grab to use as docks for a marina kind of area. Right now it looks like it will have to be just armorcast or tabletop world.

And on that note, I just found this Kickstarter.. looks like just what I need. Too bad I don't have a 3D printer, but Shapeways should be good enough...

Oh.. those look nice. I might consider some of them, want to see if I can find more US-based stuff first because of shipping but I'll probably grab a couple of their buildings eventually

They're really quite nice (although i do wish they would sell more of them as unpainted/unassembled kits.)

Yeah I think I'll go with 4Ground then. I prefer a more organic resin look but these do look real nice, and I this amount of buildings from Tabletop World would be a small fortune for me. I was going to do Noble Knight games, but I wanted unpainted and it looks like i can just get them direct from 4Ground instead for a little cheaper since it will be free shipping over £50. Ends up around $190 according to google for the Backstreet and Dockside sets, that'll be enough to keep me busy for a while.

My 4Ground buildings showed up last night. I got the Dockside Dwellings and Backstreets bundles. Built 2 so far, they're pretty sweet. Real easy to build and they look great.

I'll probably pick up the high streets bundle next. I just need to come up with another $200 so I can get that giant inn

Will do once I finish em all

Also thinking of doing a blog kinda thing for building a modular 3x3 "fantasy cityfight" board with 1x1 squares and roads that go down the middle of each, so they match up in the middle and you can arrange em in different ways. Thinking I'd do like 1 or 2 houses per square. Though I would probably just leave spaces for where to place them them so I can store them easily

The inn would probably take up one whole square, I think it's 11" long

Have a few of their fantasy buildings and they are pretty good and punch well above their weight in terms of cost:detailing.

The only thing I would change is adding in some card tiles as the roof is a little lacking but the rest of the detailing on the houses is great.

Here's some pics of my 4Ground buildings

the 2 & 3 story buildings came unpainted, and it was kind of a pain (mostly due to sucky weather) to paint all of the panels myself first. If you spend a little more you can get them pre-painted and they're primed in different colors so you could easily add more detail or shading if you want. I left them as is. I definitely recommend getting the pre-painted ones.. just so much easier. The little buildings were pre-painted, the bigger ones I did myself with a bunch of different colored spray paints
