So,after my initial disappointment with the new formations we got in the Mont'ka book i have been slowly having a change of heart and started exploring the new options. From what i have read, all the formations of the Cadian Battlegroup can be taken on their own without having to take the detachment;however, skimming through BattleScribe i have noticed that some of them arent availabe as single formations on the Formation tab,but only in the Cadian Battlegroup tab, specifically the Infantry Platoon,Militarum Tempestus Platoon and the Super-Heavy Support Element. Is this just a hiccup from BattleScribe's part and they too can be taken separately or not?

Do they have Formation datasheets? If not, they can't be taken as Formations. Not all Decurion choices are Formations. Some can only be taken in their Decurion.

Battlescribe is notorious for being riddled with errors. It's a decent tool if you already know how to build a list, but is not a replacement for your rule books.

Super detachments, like decurion and the like, often have named units that do not have a formation, such as flayed ones or star gods, to let you take just that unit in the detachment. The Cadian force is likely similar - so no you may not just take a platoon by itself, as it does not have a formation data sheet.

Infantry Platoon and Militarum Tempestus Platoons say "See Codex: Astra Militarum", meaning you're literally just fielding one of those units.

Super-Heavy Support Element is the name of a choice slot consisting of the following:
1 unit consisting of any Baneblade chassis vehicle from the Mont'ka book
OR
an 'Emperor's Fury' Super-Heavy Company (3 of any Baneblade chassis vehicle and a Techpriest Enginseer)

So you cannot field the "Super-Heavy Support Element" by itself--but you could field the "Emperor's Fury Super-Heavy Company" by itself.

Read page 28 of the Mont'ka rule book.
Super-Heavy Vehicle Datasheets
The Astra Militarum is not a subtle instrument, and nowhere is this more apparent than in their colossal machines of war. This section contains datasheets for eight Super-Heavy Tanks, with additional rules for the mighty weapons they bear. Each of these vehicles is a Lord of War unit with the Astra Militarum Faction, and can be added to your army in the same way as any other unit, as described in Warhammer 40,000: The Rules.

As long as you run your Guard as a Combined Arms Detachment per the BRB (p122), you have a Lord of War slot and can use your Baneblade.

Yes,i am aware of that,i was just trying to find a way to fit a single Baneblade in a list made up from detachments without using a CAD or going Unbound, but as you guys have said it isnt possible.

Do you mean a list made up solely from Formations?
Because a Formation is its own Detachment, but a Detachment isn't necessarily a Formation.

Additionally, if you really just want to run a Baneblade--then explain you're taking the Super-Heavy Support Element. It's not necessarily the case that you cannot do so, Battlescribe quite often has glaring errors.

The reason you can't take Infantry Platoons and Militarum Tempestus Platoons though is because they aren't really "Formations", you're just taking the unit entry from the main Guard book.

The Mont'Ka book is very new. I'd expect the Battlescribe files are still in development. They'll get better. Until then, this forum can help you understand your rulebooks.

The Super-Heavy Support Element is an Aux choice that says "1 unit or formation chosen from the following" and then lists all the Baneblade variants and the Emperors Fury Super-Heavy Company formation.
So taking a single Baneblade on it's own (=outside the Cadian Battlegroup or the LoW slot of a CAD) is not its own detachment and therefore not an option for a Battleforged army.
