Hey guys,

Building and painting an army for Pre and During-Heresy Emperor's Children.

I have the MKIV armour (From the Calth box) but did they have another armour that was common? I would like to use the Crusader armour if possible, but if they didn't have much of it in the fluff then I would go with the armour they were known for having much of.

Any ideas, or should I just go ahead and order a million Mk II suits?

It is possible to win and lose at once.
Think of the war that rages for so long that a world is left worthless in its wake.
Think of the swordsman that slays a foe at the cost of his own life.
Think finally of the Siege of Terra.
Let those fateful nights burn into your memory
Never forget the lesson learned when Horus duelled the False God.
Triumph bought with too much blood is no triumph at all.

They would've used all Armour types. They generally preferred MkIV but there's examples in Betrayal of EC in MkII and III Armour as well, so there's absolutely nothing stopping you using other armours

As one of the Traitors they got priority when it came to MkIV thanks to Horus, and the EC, particularly as Horus and Fulgrim were especially close, and they were perfectionists with a steller military record, probably the second Legion to get MkIV. MKII or III were probably not that common by the Heresy. Maybe the loyalists grunts within the legion.
