Subject: How to kit out a Combat Sorcerer on a Bike?

What's the best way to kit out a Sorcerer on a bike that's going to get into Assault? I'm planning to run one in a unit of Spawn, but I'm not really sure what's necessary.
I was thinking just a Bolt Pistol, Force Axe, Sigil of Corruption, ML3, and Spell Familiar. I know to run unmarked, but I don't know if there's anything else I need on it. Different weapon other than the Bolt Pistol? Other upgrades?

Axe, Bike, Sigil, ML3, and Spell Familiar. Simple and effective.

If there are points left over, should I consider the Murder Sword? Could be pretty useful for GMC or Riptide hunting, since it doesn't require Force to go off to ID them.

The Murder Sword is one of the most overpriced pieces of garbage.

If there are points left over for that junk, consider switching to crimson slaughter and picking up one of the toys from their relic list. Furious charge from slaughterer's horns is nice if you're trying to force weapon stuff to death, balestar is handy for access to div (though biomancy works so well for a biker sorc in a unit of spawn I'm not sure I'd bother, though 4++ and rending both come in handy for spawn, as does prescience) and daemonheart gives you a 2+ armour save that can't be obtained anywhere but terminator armour or a warpsmith for HQ's as well as IWND, so on the odd occassion where you peril, you've got a 33% chance of regaining that wound which is always nice.
If you want to make a pesudo Ahriman, then take the last memory out of black legion for ML4, just be aware that the spell familiar isn't the perfect solution that it ised to be for getting spells off as the consequence are pretty dire. Sunburst isn't even a terrible power for a combat oriented bike sorc.
One last thing, if you're rolling biomancy, consider opting for a force staff, since it's painful to roll warp speed and be stuck at I1 because axe and with 3 extra attacks, you should be able to get one to go through and with force, that's all you need. Likewise if you roll iron arm, your staff is now +4 str AP2 at initiative. If you can tack furious charge on there via items or warlord traits, sometimes you don't even need force because you're hitting like a demolisher cannon. Heaven help you if you get both and manage to get enfeeble off as well. Anything you look at basically explodes into meat chunks.

I would personally go bike, baelstar, force axe, blight grenades, lvl 3, sigil of corruption. Take 2 rolls on biomancy and the prescience from Divination. I like running them in pairs though and my second sorcerer is usually bike, spell familiar, force axe, sigil, lvl 3 and rolls on telepathy for invis and shriek. With a full unit of nurgle spawn it's nasty and they are not badly priced either.

Blight grenades are Nurgle only IIRC, and if you're MoN, you can't have 2 rolls on bio and one on Div, you've got to roll at least 1 on Nurgle.

Blight Grenades do say MoN only in the Wargear list.
Hm, not sure how worth it the Balestar is. Rerolls on hitting are nice from Prescience, but at the same time I feel like getting that extra roll on Biomancy is almost necessary to help guarantee one of the better powers.
Unless one was to go whole hog into Div, which could end up with lots of good powers. 3 of the powers aren't useful for the Sorc/Spawn unit (Full Overwatch/Counter Attack, Ignores Cover, Scrier's Gaze most times), so there's only a 1/20 chance you don't end up with at least one good power.
Whether or not Precognition/Misfortune/Prescience are better than Iron Arm/Warp Speed, and Forewarning is better than Endurance is another question. I dunno, but for only 10 points more than a Spell Familiar, maybe it's worth having so if you roll Iron Arm/Endurance you can also jump over to Div for your third power.

he'll almost always be with the squad though and you want them doing as much as possible because they are the real work horses, not the sorcerer. He's just support and holds his own if need be. Battlescribe doesn't restrict it and I'd work without the codex.
always take baelstar on him at the least prescience alone makes it worth the price difference.
