1st) You probably should post this kind of thing in the general discussion or 30k section.

2nd) They're OK IMHO. There's no "best value" at the moment because there's just the 3 different sets of upgrade marks for general dudes. I'll get a little more excited when the scarab occult are released. Some of the heads are a bit meh and one of the torsos doesn't do much for me, but as a TSons fan, I like them overall.

3rd) No, there's no legs, otherwise then it would be a full kit, not an upgrade, so you need to buy your favourite of Mark II / III / IV armour and then buy the upgrade kit to match that mark for chest / head / shoulderpads as you deem appropriate to your finances.

The best value would be to buy Betrayal at Calth and then buy 3 sets of upgrade sets for Mark IV armour. Dependant on your country and FLGS, you may be better off buying it all as one package from forgeworld or buying B@C localy and then buying 3 upgrade kits (along with whatever other junk you need from FW to save on shipping) from FW.

I know it's cheaper for me to buy B@C from my local GW here in Aus with no discount and then just buy 3 upgrade sets of TSons bits than it is to buy the all in 1 thing from FW (though only by $11).

You'll also need a 30k rulebook, but the gamers pack of those is currently sold out IIRC.

That can't be right, unless by local GW you mean local independent.

The Strike Force has free shipping and costs ~ $480 AUD.
BaC is $265 AUD, and the cost of 3 upgrade bundles is ~ $290 AUD, excluding shipping.

You save about ~ $75 AUD, give or take the exchange rate.

They are as good as any other legion upgrade set IMO. I will wait to see what FW does with their legion- specific models before I buy anything, but I might just wait on the whole thing until I can get my hands on the legion rules because HH isn't the game you wanna buy stuff for "just 'cause it looks cool."

I went to Hershey Park in central PA this year, and I have to say I was more than a little disappointed. I fully expected the entire theme park to be make entirely of chocolate, but no. Here in America, we have "building codes," and some other nonsense about chocolate melting if don't store it someplace kept below room temperature.

Nope, checked it out yesterday, and with the exchange rate, the strike force is like 550. B@C is 265 and 3 upgrade kits were about 270 (so ~535 together assuming I get enough stuff to qualify for free shipping, which I probably would, 'cause I like the look of a bunch of their stuff.) Odd, just punched the numbers in again to double check and you're right. Wonder what I typed in yesterday? Weird.

I like the helmets.

I *love* the iconography on the armour BUT not only can you see too much of the underlying post-Heresy Mk7 armour but you can even see enough to know which blasted plastic torso from the tactical squad that the sculptor used as a base!

I've planned a 1ksons army after I finally finish my 30k UM force. I'd be a bit nervous starting 1ksons without seeing the legion rules and unit types as you don't know what will work and what will not for their play style.

I like 'em but they aren't blingy enough for squad leaders or other command positions. I'm hoping the full on sorcerers have more bling as that is the core of the army I'm building around.

Picked up the heads and 5 torsos. Nice, but the heads could have been better.

The pads are dissapointing so won't be getting them .

Going to mix them with the BAC mk4s. Will try and GS some loinclothes. Been stockpiling egyptianny bits for a while.

no, the upgrades are helmets, torso's, and 1/2 of the shoulder pads, either all 3 in the bundle, or all separate. Personally, buying just the Shoulder pads is more then enough for your regular dudes, save the helmets to be either mixed in sparringly, or to kit out the srgts. same goes for the torsos.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

I think the upgrades suck - in relation to what FW is really capable of. The little details they should have, for that price, just isn't there.

Age of Sigmar - It's sorta like a clogged toilet, where the muck crests over the rim and onto the floor. Somehow 'ground marines' were created from this...

At first I was excited to see the announcement, but upon further review I was kind of disapointed.
If we take the cover of Mcneil's book as a reference then the fw heads are a bit of a let down.

Idk maybe the middle row is ok...

I stumbled across wargame exclusive, which has some more interesting model options:
