Hey guys

I just had a look at the path to glory campaign and was wondering what people thought of it?
I for one was thinking it's kind of a cool idea for us struggling followers of chaos but I'm not completely convinced.

Problem is that this is mostly a CSm Vs CSM campaigne setting.

Not your run of the mill 40k alternate list.

Now you can always talk your friends in using the scenarios and rules for the Gods Gifts in your common 40k game, but you will need houseruling, since all the rewards in the PtG ruleset are giving AFTER the game and you can use them in the following game and still functions with the Chaos Boons chart from CSm codex.

Solution is to use the PtG chart instead of the CSM Chaos boons chart, since they are overall better, more balanced and the chart is simplier, and thats for Indenpendant Characters.

And use the Lesser Glories for units when an Aspiring Champ wins a duel.

Now some of the missions could be used with another army as adversary, but keep in mind that nearly all of them are designed to be used with CSM models with specific Marks of X etc.

But personnaly if they re-use those Rewards chart in the next CSm codex, i think it would be for the better.

Is there a comprehensive overview of it? I'd hate to throw money at something I'll never need.

Just like Old Path to Glroy campaign rules for WBF 6th ed and RoC before that, you decide to take a Champion, a Lord, with its base equipement etc then you can either buy the units you want, or roll on a random chart, wich is different given the Mark your Lord have.

After each game you win Favors points, 1 when you loose and D3 if you win, once you get 10 Favor points , you will have a shoot at rolling on the Chart and maybe become a DPrince, then win the campaign( because Path to Glory ultimate goal is Deamonhood).

If you become a Spawn, you simply choose a new Champion to carry on the campagn.

After each battle you can make a roll on the Eye of the Gods chart and also roll for a new unit to join your ranks, or instead of getting a new unit, roll for One unit you allready have on the Lesser Glories chart, wich will give then unit a Once per Game ability.

Charts are; Eye of the Gods.2D6 add the numbers.

2-SPawnhood
3- Attacks characteristic of the Champion is D6.
4-If your Champion is wounded in CC, the ennemy models in BtB gets suffer a S5 AP3 hit.
5- gets Fear*sigh*...
6-Gets a Lesser Reward from your God, roll for it on a different chart depending on your Patron God.
7-Greatre Reward; same as above.
8-Exalted reward; same as above.
9- Zealot.
10-reroll saves
11-gains the Deamon usr
12-Deamonhood, you retain any rewards you got prior to that.

The Dark patronage rewards ( 6/7 and 8 results)

Khorne; .
Lesser reward;Double your Warp CHarge dices pool when you make DtW rolls; if you have 3 dices in your pool, you can use 6 to DtW.
Greater Reward; gain Rampage
Exalted reward; +2A on your profil.

Nurgle:

Lesser; gain It will not Die
Greater; +1Wound
Exalted; ennemy models in 7" of the Champion have their WS and BS halfed down.

Tzeentch;

Lesser; regain D3 wounds lost earlier when you make a succesfull DtW on a power that targets the Champ and his unit.
Greater; gets DS usr, he can join a unit during deployement and give DS to that unit.
Exalted; Champs gains the Psyker rule, roll D3 to determine his Mastery lvl, generate powers in the Tzeentch discipline only.

Slaanesh;

Lesser; gains acute sens and night vision.
Greater: CHamp and unit, reroll failed charges.
Exalted; in Init 10 step in CC, each ennemy units locked in CC with Champ or unit takes a Init test, if failed unit WS reduced to 1 till the end of the phase.

The Lesser glories chart permits a unit you allready have to gain an ability and be blessed by the Gods, D6 roll.

-1) Once per battle, reroll faild to wound rolls for the rest of the turn.
-2) Once per battle, start of the turn , the unit gains Shrouded till start of your next turn.
-3) once per battle, after the unit as shoot in the shooting phase, it can immidiatly shoot a second time on same targte or on a different target.
-4)once per battle, unit can choose to DS instead of moving in the movement phase, remove the unit, and immidiatly deploy them per DS rules, if they don't scatter, they can assault in the same turn.
-5)once per battle, the unit can make at the start of the turn a roll for each model slained in the unit before, on 5+, the models are brought back to life.
-6) Roll twice on the Lesser glories chart, reroll if you get another 6.

I feel like the Slaanesh chart is far worse than the other 3.

Slaanesh is the worst God. It is to be expected but at least it is something.
