Howdy! Local group is starting a Heralds of Ruin Campaign with some homebrewed 30k rules to kick off the 30k trend at our FLGS.

I am looking into running a fluffy Ravenguard force. And am wondering how bad some of these might be in play...

- Sniper rifles?
- Jump packs?
- Lightning claws?

How many points is too many for your leader? We have a 250 point starting force and my current builds are 80 and 105 points respectively the former being fairly conservative and the latter being a Captain with Jump Pack and twin lightning claws, and rerollable 3+ armor (seemed gross but a lot of points to sink)

Thoughts?

Why not just play using Space marine rules? Why homebrew?

H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!
War Kitten- Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...
koooaei- Emperor: I envy your nipplehorns. <Magnus goes red. Permanently>
Neronoxx- If our Dreadnought doesn't have sick scuplted abs, we riot.
Frazzled- I don't generally call anyone by a term other than "sir" "maam" "youn g lady" "young man" or " HEY bag!"
Ruin- It's official, we've ran out of things to talk about on Dakka. Close the site. We're done.

Steve steveson- To be clear, I'd sell you all out for a bottle of scotch and a mid priced hooker.

We essentially are, but have added some rules to use some 30k units for each Legion essentially. For example, Ravenguard have access to mor deythan as a special unit selection.

Ah, that makes sense.

On the other note, your leader should be under 100 points. Boys before toys
