I'm looking to connect with hobbyists and gamers around the N. Dallas area. I've been around the hobby for years but haven't done much gaming (primary focus has been Hobby). I'm especially interested in starting up Malifaux, as well as 40k, AoS, BA, Frostgrave, and even FoW (I do have a 35pt Cygnar force painted and ready to go, so I wouldn't mind a little WM/H either). Unfortunately, based on what I've been exposed to rather frequently at the local shops, Warmahordes tends to promote the opposite of what it is that I'm looking for. (Line up, charge, kill the leader. Cloth cut-outs for "terrain" (green for forests, blue for water), and fully unpainted plastic and metal miniatures.

I want to experience Wargaming at it's fullest potential! Narrative-based, objective-driven games, played with fully painted miniatures and high-quality terrain. Once I settle on a primary system I plan to begin putting together a collection of appropriate terrain, F.A.T Mat(s), etc.

Anyways, it would be great to begin a new collection/game system and I'm hoping to find some like-minded individuals to help and take part in the process. I have easy access to Madness Games & Comics and HobbyTown in Plano, as well as Texas Toy Soldier in Dallas. I look forward to hearing from you!

Come to Texas Toy Soldier on Mondays for Malifaux night! We have a good sized group with lots of variety. I'm the local Henchman, so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

I can't help much with the rest, but there's a lot of games being played locally. I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

Nova 2012: Narrative Protagonist
AlamoGT 2013: Seguin's Cavalry (Fluffiest Bunny)
Nova 2013: Narrative Protagonist
Railhead Rumble 2014: Fluffiest Bunny

Awesome, and thank you for the reply! The Henchman listed for the area on the Wyrd website was last active on their forums years ago. Thus far, I love what I've read about Malifaux. What website(s) would you suggest that I begin exploring?

Wyrd in the middle of revamping the Henchman program, so the website is a bit out of date. It's annoying.

Go here for FAQs, errata, Wyrd Chronicles (monthly ezine for fluff, tactics, modeling, etc), and a helpful forum.

The Strategy Wiki. Lots of good stuff here.

There's A Wyrd Place, a good Facebook group. Our local Facebook group is DFW Team Malifaux.

Im pretty new to this 40k... I dabbled around a bit in my younger days... but now that I am older, I have a much better feel for the game... My friend got me into it this year, and he has been the only person I have battled against. I am looking for a variety of players, not just one!! lol... like i said i am new, but i have been learning and studying the codex and rulebook practically everyday. Im looking for some fun, fair, clean battles..... even if yall whoop me, idc.. I just wanna learn more and develop

I'll give another shout out to Texas Toy Soldier. Not only is most of the stuff there 20-25% off retail, but the guys there are pretty darn great. Tuesday night is a great time to get in games for 40K, as well as every 1st Saturday there is a 40K tourney. And the tourneys are pretty relaxed in general, no more than 20 players and only 1-2 "meta-competitive" lists.
There are plenty of other games actively played there (Flames od War, Malifaux, X-wing, etc), but I am most familiar with the 40K group.

I agree on TTS, especially since the discounted products prices there are so good. I go up there on either fridays or saturdays alot and try to buy most of my products through them as they often have things in stock that other places don't have. I think Madness is great too, but there never seems to be much of a 40k group there. Living very far north of Dallas, I sorta run into the same problem of not having a regular group, though I do talk to a ton of the players from the Frisco Games Workshop store regularly and they're all pretty friendly.

Recently, many of the players from Frisco have migrated to TTS also. Btw, they've been running Malifaux tournaments the last couple weekends and they seem to be having a lot of fun with that. I haven't gotten into that, so I really don't know much there, but you did mention trying multiple games and at the tournaments they've had a table set aside specifically to run new players through a quick game.
