So I pretty much have my Crimson Fists figured out at the current time. However, I have 50 pts left to make use of in my army. Initially, I thought Aegis Defense Line, but I had completely forgot about an Inquisitor! I could take an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor with either a Power Weapon or Power Armor and the Libre Hereticus for roughly 50 pts. My question is, which is better to give it, more offense or more defense? Giving him a Power Sword would increase the number off attacks I get at initiative, but he we die to a light breeze. Giving him Power Armor will increase his survivability a bit, but he will attack with the force of a light breeze. I don't have enough points to equip them with their fun stuff like Rad Grenades. What should I do?

You'll never make an inquisitor 'tough' - with T3 and no access to a decent invulnerable save, they'll always be easy to kill if someone attacks them directly.

Sadly you don't have quite enough points to make him a psyker. I'd say Liber Heresius or Tome of Vethic, Servo-Skulls, Psyocculum, and go for tactical value.

It all depends on the squad its going to join. Im partial to a grenade holder for a combat unit. Ive always enjoyed rad and psyhotroke grenade to mess with the people im charging.

Maybe post your list and see what you want him to do in there. Also you then might be able to trim some fat and make the inquisitor half decent.

stock + 3 skulls is all you ever need.

Radnades and Liber Scoutmovius are decent but not really for everyone,

3 servo skulls and the liber book would fill 50 pts well for most imperial armies.

For 50pts you can have a basic Inquisitor with Lvl 1 and a Psyocculum (BS10 for him an his unit against psykers). Nice against eldars.

- 22nd Rhayé Storm Division : 2000points (Spetsnaz-themed IG)

- Ordo Xenos : ~700pts

25 inqu +15 book +9 for 3 skulls = exactly 49/50.

And now imagine scoutmoving that LR...

Or how about rad grenades? that would work with lowering MC's toughness enough to hurt them more, with both assault and shooting (throw the grenade and lower the toughness)

Works sometimes, although there are not this much viable MC Targets these days - Riptides etc are hard to catch, WK is going to kill you and so on.

Also when you are loaded with PF there isn't much need in Radnades anyway. I use them with my Henchmen Warband Conclae to compliment DCA charging out, but that ps probably not the strongest army in the world.

That has been my thought. The book will help get that raider closer so it can deliver its cargo. My issue before was that I had an LRC with Honour Guard. The Honour Guard can't purchase an LRC as a dedicated transport, so they couldn't give scout to it. But with the Terminators, it can be a dedicated transport, which means I can pass Scout onto it. Being able to give the Terminators Split Fire or Counter-attack is nice too.

Are Servo Skulls any good? It could slow my opponents down since they can't scout through them. That could help against Ravenwing.

That said, if you want a Terminator retinue, you might as well buy Assault Terminators because you need a 3++ to tank things Pedro cannot handle.

Yeah, I go back and forth on that. If I did, I wouldn't have the points for an Inquisitor. I have several different options for his retinue, including a Honour Guard, Terminator Squad with Assault Cannon, and an Assault Terminator Squad with three THSS and two lightning claws. I am going to experiment on which one is more successful and stick with that. Getting the Inquisitor Scouting Land Raider makes me want to stick with the Terminators or Assault Terminators. I supposed I *could* get a Phobos Pattern to give the Honour Guard a Dedicated Transport for Scouting in, but I like Terminators. Eventually I will probably get one though. I at least converted my Land Raider Redeemer into a Crusader (I remember you had said how little you cared for the Redeemer).

I am thinking I am going to go ahead and do the Inquisitor with a Bolt Pistol and Chainsword, Liber Heresius, and three Servo Skulls. I read up on Servo Skulls, and it looks like they will mess up a good number of different opponents.

Skulls also reduce friendly blast templates within 12 inches, which can come in handy.

That could be handy with my Land Speeder Storms launching their Cerberus Launchers. I don't have any other blast weapons.

Well now that I kinda have my Inquisitor figured out, what is the best model for them? There is one with a bolt pistol and Power Sword that could be changed into a chainsword using the one from the Space Marine Scouts. What other options are there for a good Inquisitor?

I will be using a bunch of Servo Skulls I have from my Devastator Squads to make the Servo Skull tokens.

I suggest looking at reaper miniatures either directly or on amazon. Inquisitors are one of the most customizable units in the game and GW has not done them justice.

I may end up doing at some point. I will probably just get the Carapace Armor one and give him a Chainsword for the time being.

One thought I did have was that if I was going to convert something, I could start with the Officio Prefectus Commissar and convert from there. Replace his sword with a chainsword, mold airspace armor on his chest, replace his head with something more appropriate. But that would be a lot of work.

Another option is Solomon Lok, who could have his power sword replaced with a Scout Bolt Pistol and be given a combat knife in a sheath. That may be an option since he looks really cool. It would also give me a reason to get a few other FW items I want.
