Im aware of the rules behind running daemon princes as heavy supports, although when Im not sure I check battlescribe and even the app isn't sure. Would love some clarification

Can I run a DP in the second HQ slot when I run the Masque of Slaanesh for a C:CD army - the answer is yes, you can select a DP as your other HQ choice.

What Battlefield Role does the Daemon Prince have in your Codex? Is it an HQ or is he a Heavy Support?

I don't play Daemons, but I thought the Daemon Prince was an HQ in Codex: Chaos Daemons and a Heavy Support in Codex: Chaos Space Marines.

You need to take a keeper of secrets to unlock the daemon prince of slaanesh as a heavy support choice. The rule is called Lord of Secrets and can be found on the keeper of secrets unit entry that contains it's options and point values.

Same thing goes for greater daemons of the other gods. But the masque doesn't have the Lord of Secrets rule.
