Greetings all!

This 40k player finally took the jump to register an account in preparation for meeting my gaming New Years resolution.

About Me
I've played on and off for a long time now - I cut my teeth at the tail end of 40k 2nd edition, dabbling with Ultramarines, which carried me over into the glorious new age of 3rd edition.
After a while, I developed a taste for Eldar, running an Alaitoc list. This carried me all the way through 4th until I went to university, when the army was sold off for financial purposes.

I followed 5th edition, sitting and watching from a distance, until the release of the Newcrons codex inspired me to dive in again. I have since built up 3k of Necrons, and the same of Blood Angels.

My friends and I have also dabbled with Inqusimunda and Necromunda, greatly enjoying both.

The Plan
Those 6k of troops - pretty much all unpainted. Much of my enjoyment comes from kitbashing new models and gaming, with my dislike of my painting skills acting as a limiting and demotivating factor for getting everything completed.
So, I've challenged myself this year to get it finished - my case and shelves shall not have a single unpainted model by 2017.
I'm planning to blog it all on here, and collect as much criticism and advice (and hopefully some compliments!) as I can from you much more talented people.

When I start the blog, I'll probably edit this post to link to it , but until then, hello!

Welcome to DakkaDakka, loyalist scum! Just because you play Necron too doesn't absolve you

Would love to see that blog. Just don't get disheartened with your first few models and you'll be fine. Tutorials and feedback help a lot but still the painting learning curb is mostly overcome through practise. There plenty of ways to strip a model down of paint in the future so don't be worried about messing up a few models as you practise techniques and stuff ^^

I feel weird giving advice as I still struggle with table quality, but I am someone who nearly fell out of the hobby by getting stressed out at my impossible to meet standards (don't stare too long at the box art ). Good luck on your quest!

"The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does. That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer!" - Khârn "The Bloody", First Captain of the World Eaters

Thanks guys.

Nice tabletop quality, arms reach viewing is the sort of level I'm aiming for.

If real life doesn't get in the way I'm planning to get the blog started, and some pictures of the handful of models I have (nearly) finished uploaded, this weekend

Hi. Welcome to Dakka. Looking forward to that p and m blog

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum
