Here we go:

HQ
Legion Praetor: Iron Halo, Paragon Blade: Rite of War the Logos Lectora
Body Guard: 7 Invictarus Suizerains, Land Raider Phobos
Legion Centurion: Master of Signal, Void Shield Harness

Troops:
20 Man Tactical Squad: Artificer Armour and Powersword on sarg
20 Man Tactical Squad: Artificer Armour and Powerfist on sarg
5 Man Tactical Support Squad: 5 plasma guns

Elites:
Contemptor Dreadnought Talon
2 Contemptor dreadnoughts with Kheres and fist
Legion Apothecary:
1 legion apothecary

Heavy Support:
Heavy Support Squad: 5 Missile Launchers.

Lord of War:
Roboute Guiliman

Strategy:
Guilliman, the praetor, and the invictarus go into the land raider and form the spearhead of the assault. They will go ahead and try to elimnate the heaviest of vehicles and melee fighters in the enemies army. The master of signal joins the tactical support squad to help them live, The tactical support squads forms a wall to go forward and setup a forward line to capture objectives. The contemptor dreadnoughts form the front of the line and bring down any terminator sized threats that appear near the Tactical squads. Finally the heavy support brings up the rear and stays on objectives near my side of the table.

thoughts?

I'd not put Roboute in the Praetor's unit as he'd be overkill for an already killy unit. I'd stick him with a tactical squad or the support squad in a Spartan personally.

CC is a bit risky to rely on to take out heavy tanks, something like a Xiphon would be better and give you decent AA at the same time.

I'm not a fan of missile launcher squads, they never work well for me and I'd rather take a 3 man rapier squad as they last longer and cause more damage.

The plasma squad will be a priority target, they'll need a transport to keep them alive.

Illegal list. The Logos Lectora require three Cumpulsory Troops Choices and the Tactical Support Squad is not allowed to be taken like that. However, this is the easiest fix in the world. Remove the Suzerain from the Bodyguard slot and put them in as Troops according to Gulliman's rules. Problem solved.

I personally prefer squads of 15 Tacticals to make the maximum use of the unified shooting that Ultramarines can do. And Breachers Teams with plenty of Swords. Closing in, using the ability for Counter Attack, shooting Fury of the Legion (or whatever that rule is called) then taking the charge on the nose just so the Breachers can come in after and mop up the following turn or using BS2 Overwatch if you prefer that sort of thing. More squads means more engagements and fifteen is still a hearty speed bump. But, that's just personal preference. I don't have enough experience to say if it's the smartest idea since I'm still in the practicing stages of 30k.

Any reason you'd take Breachers over Suzerain when you can take the Suzerain as troops?

Although Suzerain are more expensive (225 vs 325) for the same size of unit the upgrades of 2+, WS5, 2 base attacks, options to give any of them plasma pistols/thunderhammers and 'free' Legatine Axes for all is a significant upgrade.

I don't use Primarchs. Don't have the model, don't plan to get the model. I'm not a fan of 'Herohammer' in most cases and a Primarch is ridiculously singular. I wouldn't use him until 5k+ games which is a long way away and even then, I'd prolly rather have a Fellblade.

So, when I mention Breachers, that's just what I use for my third Troop. In this list with a Primarch, it'd be a fourth Troop suggestion. I'd keep the Suzerain as shown. I just like the mop up squad option to maximize the amount of units that can be engaged. Why risk the expensive Suzerain when Breachers can mulch MEQ just fine to support the Tacticals.

I'm the other way as my meta is very Primarch heavy, so he'll fit into any game I can get him into. I don't normally play anything less than 3k and usually play around 5k. We normally allow a seperate LoW attachement for Titans, Knights and the big tanks so its not a problem to fit Primarchs into the main detachment.

Holy Terra.

I'm not sure with Ultrasmurfs (I play RG and EC) but primarchs are fine by them selves. If you purpt them in reserve, the are great backup units, plus if yours deep strikes (corvax) they are MONSTERS.

@Sharkoutofwata

Yup, I just reread the Tactical Support Squads rules, and have swapped over my Invictarus to troops.
15 man tactical squads might make some sense, Ill have to test that out in a couple of games.

@Looky Likey

If I had a spartan, Id do that in a heartbeat. But having guilliman hang around my Tactical squads make sense, as then he will be shot at instead of my land raider, ontop of another cogis signum he can really boost the firepower of a unit there, any fight off any melee threats.

Primarchs are a big part of my meta, and Ironically tanks are not (though they are on the rise.)
