Hey everyone, still new to Infinity, only have a couple games using Operation Icestorm under my belt. Looking to expand on the Nomads, wanted to get a decent list set up before I do so, so I don't end up with a bunch of models just gathering dust like some of my 40k stuff. Here's my current list idea
Nomads
──────────────────────────────────────────────────
Group 1 10 0 0
SPEKTR Hacker (Assault Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 36)
MOBILE BRIGADA Lieutenant MULTI Rifle + Light Flamethrower / Pistol, Knife. ( 39)
WILDCAT (Number 2) Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. ( 20)
WILDCAT Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 27)
WILDCAT Heavy Rocket Launcher / Assault Pistol, Knife. (2 | 20)
GRENZER MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 32)
HELLCAT Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. ( 21)
INTRUDER HMG, Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (1.5 | 42)
TOMCAT Doctor Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower + 1 Zondcat / Pistol, Knife. ( 26)
ZONDCAT Electric Pulse. (4)
SPEKTR (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. ( 32)

Any and all C&C are welcome!

I'm not a Nomads player, but only 10 orders seems really low. Consider dropping some of the more expensive stuff, e.g. Intruder HMG, and replacing with cheaper alternatives. I would recommend a total reaction HMG Remote as a cheaper alternative to the Intruder, and maybe a Daktari instead of the Tomcat Doctor. Also, what are the Wildcats doing that an Aguaciles can't? Flame throwers are nice but you have 4. I would take some cheaper Aguaciles, if possible one with a missile launcher, as that weapon is unreal.

Athough I'm more a Bakunin than a Nomad player but only ten Orders are not many. An AD Doctor and Hellcat and also hidden deployed Spectrs will lower your orders to six. If you choose to have the first turn you'll be left with only four (!) orders that is really bad because you can do almost nothing during your first turn.
And as long as you can't form Fireteams the No. 2 Wildcat is a waste of points (ok, actually one point ). And Alguaciles can move better than Wildcats and are cheaper, the Wildcat Hacker with his BTS 6 is a quite good choice though.
Consider to field a morlock or Jaguar providing you with smoke grenades thus you can pull that old but effective MSV 2 + Smoke trick

As another new player you'll definitely feel starved for orders.
I imagine it's probably exaggerated by being new because we don't have a handle on all the potential order efficencies, and might still feel like everybody needs to do something in our active turn, but I'm feeling order light with 8 at 200 pts.

Thanks for the tips so far everyone. Approximately how many orders should I have at 300pts? In the bat reps I've seen a lot of the armies have about 10 or so orders at 300, are they just running really elite armies?
The choice of wildcats over aguaciles was most because I don't really like the idea of cheerleaders. I like every model in my army to be competent in some way beyond just giving an order for someone else, so I figured with the better stat line wildcats would be a better choice for me. (Also I'm not exactly the best painter in the world and helmets are easier for me to paint than faces lol).
The HMG remotes instead of intruders is an interesting idea that I'm going to look into, I can see how they would be a better option.
Is the Daktari the better option than the tomcat? I like the tomcat's better stat line, and the ability to drop him in anywhere I need him rather than having to waste orders moving a daktari up (plus risking AROs) seems like the better option.

I think it depends on the person/playstyle.
So long as its at least 10 at 300, though not having access to all your orders could be a problem.
You could always try a corregidor list you wouldn't be able to use the spektrs or grenzer but it would let you use aguaciles in a non cheer leader maner, in a link team you'd be able to spend a few orders on them(so they actualy do something) while still leaving some free for other units.
Or do both, depending on your mood.

Sectorials tend to be easier to play with ten order lists since the fireteams often give you more orders than they'll need. Infiltrating Minelayers are also a somehow good way to use their orders elsewhere because they did their job already during deployment thus my Zero MLs tend to be the unseen Cheerleaders You'll see sometimes there is just no use for certain troops so they'll turn to cheerleaders automatically and it would be stupid not clever to spend orders on them...
I usually play 300 Points Games with 14 to 16 regular orders (often accompanied by two Morlocks giving me 4 additional orders) because I barely use HIs or TAGs.
Regarding the Daktari + Zondbot: while being cheaper she still has to reach the unconsious trooper somewhere on the table but if she doesn't have to do it you'll get her order, whilst the tomcat doctor denies you her order and, if you deploy her, will cost you additional orders when used.

This is a great attitude to take into list building and will serve you well the deeper into the game you get. I agree with the guys here that 10 orders is really the minimum and as Tristan points out with the HD and AD you have that order pool will drop considerably.
I have had some joy with 10 man lists with an even spread of points (30) per model but find you need all boots on the ground from turn 1. Alternatively an 11 model list with a little surprise hidden in group 2 ready to move across using a command token seems to be quite effective.
This style of list is viable but also challenging and unforgiving.
So I just wanted to touch back onto the cheerleader thing. I think when you label any unit as cheerleaders you psychologically handicap yourself. I try and think in terms of front line and reserves.
Alguaciles fall firmly into the category of reserves but they are still capable units when used well. Your basic combi Alguacil can take on a Nisse sniper if he gets within 8", so they are competent if played well and you have the orders to maximise their strengths and exploits your targets weaknesses.
With the fact they are cheap that then allows you to draft in some frontline troops who bring some really potent combos of skills and equipment to the table such as the intruder who can do most of the leg work while being supported by your LI.
With the changes to G: RP I am impressed when using TR Rems and frustrated facing them in N3 they are great ARO threat and area denial but the Intruder is in a different category. He is a beast on offense/Active turn and you will have a load of fun bossing the table with him. HMG/Cammo/MSV2 is a rare and deadly combo.
Have another think about using some of the cheaper units to give yourself some more orders to play with. Consider how you can make the most from them on the table rather than thinking of them as simply static order tokens.
The other thing I do with them, and would like to suggest to you, is finding a couple of points per LI to upgrade them to Paramedics and Forward observers. That way you are not just looking to leverage their combi but can swing games by picking up and injured Intruder or blinding a rampaging TAG not to mention, you can win games with them dashing to open a crate or WIP a console and secure you OPs

If you put a HMG Intruder in the Supressive Fire state he'll be a pretty good ARO machine too. Picture him placed in partial cover so every non-visor troop will get a MOD of -9 on its BS skill (regarding range it'll still be a -6). The Intruder might lose his favourite HMG range but he's going to be a pain for everyone within 24".
In comparision TR remotes are pretty easy to kill e. g. with an SML

Second attempt at this list. Main changes are that I dropped the Hellcat and the SPEKTR FO for various Aguaciles. After thinking about it I decided to leave in the Intruder instead of taking reaction zonds cause I like his offensive abilities and he can still provide ARO power with suppression. I left in the Tomcat Doctor too cause I like having the ability to drop in a doctor anywhere on the board I need to. My questions to you all now, other than how the list looks now and do I have enough orders, are would you trade out the Tomcat Doc for a Hellcat with a boarding shotgun, since I have an aguacile paramedic? Or can the Tomcat provide sufficient harassment and utility as a specialist that it makes up for lacking the hellcat's firepower? Also would you choose any different aguaciles? I tried to take as many specialists as I could, though I was limited by the fact that I was already at 6 SWC, was wondering if 3 FOs is superfluous or is it good redundancy? As always, C&C is greatly appreciated!
