I'll cut to it. I just bought 80 cadian infantry, the old metal command squad and 18 heavy weapon teams. I got them all brand new in box on ebay for about 185 bucks, and to be honest it was a giant impulse buy. I already have a huge guard army with all the infantry I'll ever need in a million years. I'm at a loss as to how to use these new fellas. Genestealer cult support? Traitor guard? Resell and split it up for a small profit? Chaos cultists for my nurgle army? Besides guard, how would you use a crap ton of cadians?

I'd go for some traitor guard, because it's something new and fun you can do.

I've always been a fan of making terrain pieces with bodies, if they are not assembled yet (not using all of them). I used a catachan heavy weapon squad in a makeshift punji pit.
Traitor guard or using them as cultists I think would be a neat idea too.

WAAAGH!!!

Shred City.

With that much stuff, you can't realistically do any sort of conversion work without spending a lot more money on additional stuff.

Just make it easy on yourself and do a traitor guard army, or you can go through the rigmarole of piecing the kits out to try and make some profit off it.

Good luck!

If you already have enough IG then I would not add some more, not even traitor or gene stealer. My experience as a ork player with way too many orks is that you will rarely use those allies. Just sell them.

I'd say make them into formations and sell them. If you have no enthusiasm for a project, you might end up only half-doing it and then ruining the potential profit you could've had selling to begin with.

Forge the narrative by refusing to reuse any infantry that have died in a previous game and replace them for the next.

You could do some head swaps and use them for a 30k Imperial militia force.

Purely in metal, none of this easy to lift plastic.
Even somehow, one metal sentinel.
I may lose, but I can put my army in a pillowcase and kill you.

there's a traitor guard detachment that gives you something ridiculous like 10 troops slots, and your warlord basically gets a +2 "send in the next wave"...

just food for thought

A. Give them to me. I'll pay extremely meagerly for them. Or maybe even only a little meagerly .

B. Plenty of bodies to practice conversions, if you think yourself enough of a hobbyist. Someone recently shared this link http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/467370.page#4609969 which has lots of cool ideas to make your own meltas, plasma guns, sniper rifles, shotguns, etc., using primarily just basic Guardsmen sprues. Really nice, easier projects to practice with while making WYSIWYG veteran squads much easier to add to lists.

C. Corpses to add to terrain, or dioramas, or whatever else people in this thread have suggested along these lines.

Revel in the glory of the site's greatest thread or be edetid and baned!

3 50 man conscript squads?

I also vote for adding them to your existing IG, nothing like putting down 5000 points by yourself.

Remove the bases from superfluous minis and glue them together, shoulder by shoulder. Then, spend even more money on some Gorgon transports and use the minis as passengers.
You know, something like this, except with cadians: http://www.ifelix.co.uk/wh40kgallery/imperialguard/6006.html

Paint them take them with you to every battle get them out set them aside like they are a part of your army and say that's only x points then set up the actual list you made and watch your opponents head explode from confusion....... I do this with my imperial knight and bane blade I get them out first and look at my opponents face as they try to make list changes in their head....

Doesn't even need head swaps. The 'Calth' Imperialis Militia from Collected Visions are literally the old Cadian models.
