Irked Necron Immortal

Like the title says, what happens next?

Would Terra survive the radiation and/or blast wave?

Would the millions of psychers around Terra be aware of the impending doom and mass channel all of their psychic energy to reincarnate the Emperor in a new body?

How would the warp be affected?

Would the Tyranid threat be lessened now that the light was turned off? ( One of the Tyranid codex said that the astronomicon was attracting them to the galaxy)

Terra is destroyed. The Astronomicon blinks out. The Emperor dies. The Imperium is destroyed. The Tyranids consume the galaxy. The Necrons reclaim the husk. All hail our new Necron overlords!

(Leaving aside the real world science issues that Sol is the wrong kind of star to go nova. It will go red giant, then white dwarf - it's the wrong type to go *foom* )

If Sol goes nova, Terra dies.
It's that simple.

Terra is too close to survive the stellar explosion.

Terra dies, the astronomican goes out, snuffed like a candle.
The imperium falls apart.
The Tyranids kill and eat everything.
The necrons clean up the mess.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Maybe he's curious if the Imperium is capable of surviving the Necrons using the Celestial Orrery?

Massed Psykers (there are a lot of them in Sol after all) or the Emperor himself may be able to stop it. Aside from that, the void shields on Terra might be able to stop it from destroying the Imperial Palace. Heating and such could be managed with the sufficient power.

Don't see how it's terribly relevant considering that event wouldn't happen for billions of years.

To be fair Necrons, Eldar, Tau and Humans have all demonstrated the capability to destroy or prematurely send supernova stars.

Imperium collapses, not only is the Astronomican gone but so is the bureaucratic center of the Imperium. Mars would go too and that'd wreck them further.

Fortunately our sun has billions of years left.

Its obviously a very bad thing to have happen, it would certainly destroy the Imperium.

However, its impossible for Sol to become a super Nova. Its not a big enough star to do that. Sol will simply become a Red Dwarf billions of years in the future. Though that was actually fixed by the Ad Mech using some forgotten DAoT tech which ensures Sol will never burn out(IIRC its by leeching off of other stars elsewhere), so yay for planning ahead

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Yet the size of Sol as a red dwarf would encapsulate the earth's current orbit around the star's center of gravity with its surface. It would destroy the planet nonetheless, and will do so in real life in a couple billions of years.

Either way, Terra's fethed. Doesn't mean you can't run though. It's a predictable event.

Yes, watch all those Slaaneshi daemons scream in delicious ecstasy as their mortal forms burn around them in solar plasma. Great party.

At that time it will be WR so no problem.

Space marines replaced with ancient knight (bretonnia) themed space marines on cyber ghost horses. Least we'd get new SoB in the form of maidens or whatever and bretonnia would finally see an update.

The Imperium would be screwed. But they have better things to worry about. The sun isn't predicted to die for the next 4-5 billion years. The Golden Throne is already starting to fail, and the Imperium is doomed already by the likes of Tyranids and Necrons.
So by the time the sun dies, the Emperor and the Imperium will be long gone, even beyond the most distant memories. Terra will probably be nothing but an empty ball of rock, if it isn't consumed by Chaos.
