Can you take any knight? - Specifically asking if you can take the Forge world ones? Say the Atropos.

yes you can.
The war convocation requires an oathsworn detachment of knights which is 1-3 knights. An atropos can be taken in that detachment.
The atropos has a pretty restrictive rule though that makes you have to take another knight to take him.
"you may not have more
Cerastus Knight-Atrapos in your army
than you have Knights of other kinds"
So if you want the atropos, your gonna need to take another knight.

Oathsworn can be just an Atropos. If you want Atropos and knights you need the same amount.
The key word is Have, you don't have knights of other kinds.

Right, you have 0 knights of other kinds. 1 atrapos is more than 0.
So no, it can't be an atrapos by itself.

Yup. This is how it works. There are several Forgeworld Knight variants that can't be taken alone.

Negative. Take what you want. If someone tries to cry, don't play them. Babies don't get games.

So in other words, you don't have a rule to back up your claim that you can take an Atrapos without a normal Knight.

You realize any major tourney will allow it right?

You mean the house rules for the tourney? Tournaments can and do change the rules all of the time.
