I got about 30 of these guys for AOS. But I got no idea how to run them. Run them as a complete group of 30 of split them into two groups of about 15 of them.
It's for a store campaign that starts with 2 infantry warscrolls and 2 hero warscrolls. So maybe a group of 30 and a box of skinks or temple guard.
What are your thoughts?

Ignore it. Some people just want to waste time.
As for the topic at hand, a mass of warriors would probable be better than Skinks. They do get bonuses with a larger number.
Always take Temple Guard. Them with a hero close by is very survivable.
As for Heroes themselves, a Sunblood would benefit your infantry well and a mage like a Slann would make your Temple Guard very hard to move with one casting of Shield.

I believe the winner of the AoS masters event in the UK a week or two back was a Seraphon player with big hordes of saurus.
Depends if you're playing objective games in your campaign too. Sun bloods have a great war scroll.

Skinks also get a bonus with large numbers, but Saurus Warriors are more powerful individually.
As a general rule, it's better to have more manoeuvre elements than fewer, unless there is a command and control restriction, and there isn't in AoS.

If you are playing a pool comp you take them as a large group but depending on the game you can break them down into units so that offers some nice tactical flexibility. I would apply this same idea to all your games, if you know you are going to take 30, play around with them a bit and try 30 or 10/20 or 15/15.
Larger groups are good with their bonuses and what not but I find two to three groups to be awesome because they dont become a focal point and can pull off more flanks and movement tricks.

One problem with being in two units is that they are staggered pile-ins in the combat phase. That is, if you charge with a large unit, you get to attack with a large wad of damage before the opponent gets to counter-punch.
On the other hand two units are more flexible and have the potential of hitting either end of a unit simultaneously, stranding their middle between the two.
Also, high Bravery means Seraphon can operate a little more freely in small units without being so fearful of getting wiped from Battleshock.

What is this nonsense? AoS is clearly devoid of subtlety and only an exercise in pushing minis to the middle of a table for mouthbreathers
/Sarcasm
On topic, this is solid advice. Worth mentioning that one large unit can open you up to larger battleshock casualties in some situations as you have more models to lose on a turn the unit takes heavy damage. This can be mitigated by the basic command ability but that means forgoing the racial ones you have (Not super familiar with Seraphon so not sure how big a loss that is.)
Also Red Zeke, really enjoying the podcast (The Mortal Realms for those who don't know)

In my experience i have had good success with the larger units. Because as Red was saying, one big unit could be in combat with three smaller units for example and by attacking with that unit first you essentially have the chance to inflict casulties on all three of his units before they get to attack. Potentially limiting the amount of damage recieved in turn.

I did, had a block of 35, principally so games would run quicker (a large Warscroll is quicker in play than two or three smaller ones). I found they worked nicely on a defensive level, allowing you to throw up a tough ring (especially if you have a frog casting Mystic Shield, or get them in cover). A unit of thirty will do you well.

Hm, good point. Large unit maximizes the spread of a single buff like mystic shield or some other abilities.

Tons of good advices here. For me I would say depending on mission. If you play battleplans, stuff like breakthrough you would want to separate, to either block better or to have 2 units running just in case 1 gets bogged down. If you are playing battleplans like the ritual it would be better to have 1 whole block for stacked defence such as mystic shield.

I prefer two 15 Saugus squads. The reason is their melee range. A blob of 30 will leave most of your units out of attack range (this isn't 40k, each models melee range and positioning matters). The massive blob initiative bonus (for charging multiple units) will also only work if your opponent blobs his units close together ad he sees you march towards him. This is very situational and not likely to occur. This can also work against you if you are charged first, as you get to pile in so many inches after you take wounds, and then how many of your minis will be in melee range?
Two units can still charge the same unit, charge multiple units, etc. Keep them side by side and run them like they are a 30 man unit, even though they are not. Sure there may be an initiative issue, but this works both ways.
