Hey, in a thread that popped up on the forum a day or two ago there was a link to a thread on the B&C forums that had excellent advice for playing bike armies in 40k. The original text was a total mess so I put several hours into cleaning it up and here are the results. The guide is obviously aimed at C:SM and DA biker armies but I guess others could benefit from reading it as well.

There's nothing for you Space Elf players here. Do you even need tactics to play scatbikes?

I love that you've done this... I read his whole thread and founds parts of it to be excellent. It does seem, as you said, somewhat chaotically organized, and it also seems a little dated. I'm hopeful that folks around here will provide current enhancements, as I'm sure many of his tactical suggestions hold up in the current edition, but that new unit builds, formation special rules, and weapon loadouts may change things as well.

Nice to hear that at least someone finds this useful. I'm currently considering making this into an article at 1d4chan so the info would be even easier to access but until then this hasty pdf will have to do.

Thanks for putting this together! I enjoyed the original post/thread, but yeah, it was a bit all over the place at times. Most of what he wrote will also be of use to everyone who plays bike lists (or can field them). There were some aspects less useful to me personally (If I went for a bike list, it'd be an Ork Warbiker list, and as you said, this guide is predominantly discussing SM (and DA/WS lists), but perhaps I can ponder on the differences Orks have to consider and add my $0.02. We cannot, for instance, rely on hit and run like the WS can, which is an interesting dynamic.

"Sir, the enemy has us encircled!"

"Most excellent. They can't escape us now!"
