One of the perils results on the wild psyker perils table turns the psyker into a daemon. If he is part of a unit, he is then locked in combat with the unit. What effect does being embarked with a unit have on this result?

Can you just choose not to ever disembark them and the rest of the unit can fire out as normal? Can you disembark the unit but choose not to disembark the daemon?

I don't think there's a RAW answer to this.

HIWPI is to force the Psyker and unit to disembark and then they would be locked in combat as "normal".

RAW its a black hole of gak.

HIWPI;
Neither unit can disembark until either unit is destroyed. Psyker counts as having charged (no overwatch). The vehicle may not pivot, and must move straight ahead at full speed while the Daemon is onboard. If the embarked unit is destroyed the psyker now strikes against the vehicle, using rear armour, hitting on a 3+, and +2 to damage chart.

Wow Dead shot, that's pretty brutal. I think Mr shine''s idea is fairer but it is a pretty poor rule that needed a lot more testing!

There is somewhat of a predecant for this.

Back in the first edition of Imperial Armour 11. Bran Redmaw needs to roll to see if he transforms into a Monstrous Creature. The roll happens each turn. It was mentionned that if he changed while embarked, he would automatically disembark as a Monstrous Creature cannot be inside a Rhino.

I would go the same route. Auto disembark.

Sure it's not RAW in the BRB but I think this is the closest written rule to the current scenario.

I think that would be beneficial to the corsairs player as the rest of the unit could simply remain on the transport and flat out to get out of there.

The problem is that the daemon actually becomes a unit that is controlled by the opposing player and the daemon isn't a monstrous creature. In this case, I can't see the opposing player being happy with that suggestion although I like it myself.

There is no RAW way to play it.

Just like bran redmaw, in past editions of the chaos sex when characters could be possessed and become greater daemons they were RAW faqed to be forced to disembark.

Hiwpi - the model is forced to disembark, and is put in b2b with the transport.

Wasnt there an old FAQ about a Chaos Champion becoming a DP while embarked ?

Closest thing is the old Paradite of Mortex (or whatever) from the last Nid Dex. Models would turn into Rippers, etc. The resolution there was the model managed to stagger out of the vehicle before erupting.
