For the last few months I've really been getting into historical minis from different companies and have found it to be a real fun experience as opposed to usually painting chunky GW minis.
I've also wanted to try out some 10mm figures and really found it fun to work with these since there is not so much prepping of the models to be done, just getting to the fun of painting pretty much instantly.
So without further ado, some warriors from the North!
(all pics link to zoomable dakka gallery ones)

First off is a 28mm viking from Warlord Games seen charging into battle.

Here are the 10mm vikings from Magister Militum that were a real treat to paint. IMHO the minis at this scale look so much better grouped up like this than 28mm figures, they really give off the feel of a true army at this scale.
I haven't played any games yet at 10mm but I hope to soon since a friend and I are building some 10mm 18th century armies.

And last but definitely not least is the Lion from the North himself, the great Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden! The mini is actually not the official Gustavus Adolphus mini by Warlord games but their Sir Thomas Fairfax model, the
figure is painted however to resemble a younger Gustavus Adolphus in all his glory.

I definitely recommend you guys that do fantasy or sci-fi exclusively to go out of your comfort zone and try out some historical minis. Also if you google around for some inspiration you'll also find that most historical figure wore
quite brightly coloured clothing which I at least found being a treat to paint shortly after finishing a KoW army in grimy red and black.

Thanks for looking!

Definitely nice to see something at a scale that you don't see posted that often in Dakka. Great job

And completely agree, you can get a much better 'scale' at 15, 10 or even 6mm when compared to 28mm. You get that 'epic' feel that the larger scales just can't match, IMO.
