Assault Kommando

I have been looking and looking at some imperial options to add to my ranks, but they will at most be a formation/allied detachment. Additionally they will be a melee counter assault, or deterrent to my current AdMech, and guard forces.
I am going between a Nemesis Strike Force, not set in stone but something like
Libby ML3
Terminators, pretty sure on terminators, could go with strike squads if given reasons to.
Dreadknight (possibly)
OR The new Space Wolves start collecting formation or an allied detachment so I can grab some TWC)
The formation gives that nice extra special rule, but an allied detachment could be cheaper by just taking some blood claws and a battle leader to unlock the TWC
I'm looking to keep it in the 500 pt range for now.
Any ideas? Comments? Suggestions?

If you want a counter assault group, you've hit one of the few areas Grey Knights really excel. They would be my recommendation.
If you're willing to add 10 points (so 510 total), you can have a ML3 Libby with Liber (160 points) and a 10 model strong terminator list with two incinerators, combat-squadded (350 points). That is some serious assault deterrent, especially against hordes.

General thought was TWC is what i should be going for but I thought the added amount of free force/power weapons/storm bolters and warp charges are a welcome addition too.
I considered the Liber but i wasnt entirely sold that I needed that many santic powers, and may want to roll telepathy, or divination.

Space Wolves are better in Assault due to being able to take guys with 3++ Invuln's and their superior speed. Grey Knights? Not as well. They've got decent shooting, but if you're talking about Assault, speed is everything.
If you're looking for an aggressive Assault army, then go with Space Wolves. However, if you're looking for a bodyguard army to go with your other army, then the Grey Knights are an attractive option with good shooting and above-average assault.
One thing though, beware of Grav weaponry. That is what will evaporate your Grey Knights pretty quickly.

If you want to do it for about 500-pts, run Space Wolves as allies.
Go with:
Wolf Guard Battle Leader - 2+, Power Fist, Storm Shield, TWC
1 unit of 5x Blood Claws (or Grey Hunters)
1 unit of TWC with several Storm Shields and 1 Power Fist.

As i looked at wolves I was trying to decide if I should put the battle leader on a thunderwolf mount, just take the troops as a tax? or try to make them somewhat useful? And if I should take anything besides storm shields?
Do you really think the runic armor is a must have?

Runic armor is necessary. You need the best protection before your S10 unit engages in close combat. I suggest you use Champion of Fennris Detachment and forget SW troops. Thunderwolf gives your character S+1, T+1, W+1 and A+1. You can move 12" and have fleet to re-roll the charge. It's the best choice in SW armory.

I have Grey Knights, IG/TS, and just bought the "Start collecting" pack of Space Wolves.
For Space Wolves I would ignore the Allied Detachment and go for the Start collecting formation to get to TWC.
For the collector formation I was looking at the following:
Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf w/Black Death, Stormshield, Rune armor
Min Grey Hunters in Drop Pod
Thunder Wolf Cavalry w/2x Extra guys - 3 (Including the sergeant) Loaded with Wolfclaw and Stormshield, 2 with Thunder Hammer and Stormshield
Works out to 715 points. But the TWC can run and charge, The TWC sergeant absorbs any challenges against guys with AP2 non-I1 weapons. His 3++ helps keep him alive, and T5 keeps him from getting doubled out except by S10. Meanwhile he's pumping in 5 S6, Rending, Shredding attacks at I4.
The Wolf Lord is cranking out 6 S7 AP 2 attacks on the charge, +3 if it's against a unit of 7 or more models albeit at I1. The whole unit has rending in close combat so even against 2+ armor they can lay some serious hurt down with 2 doing 5 S6 AP3 Rending/Shredding attacks each, and 2 doing 5 S9 AP2 concussive attacks.
