I reckon it's either a Dark Eldar Ur-Ghul (or some other beast like that) or some Tyranid thing. Perhaps someone else has something better to contribute but that's what I think.

yeah that kull on the right ( on both images ) is an Ur-Ghul but what would that other thing be. It kinda looks like an Tyraanid thingy until you look at the amount of eye holes and the type of teeth

It does look quite a lot like a gene stealer head but why all the holes. I have never seen a gene stealer with this many eyes. Automatically Appended Next Post:

Genestealers come in all shapes and sizes. I am sure we could say any skull is from a genestealer.

Sure but there must be a stronger theory then: It is an odly shaped genestealer head.

It looks similar to the skull on the cover of the Ciaphis Cain novel The Greater Good. I'm not home right now (on mobile) otherwise I would post a picture of it for comparison. It could be a tyranid skull because those, by their very nature, are vastly different from one another. Although the Ur-guhl does have a skull similar to it as well, so it could also be that. The teeth resemble the Ur-guhl more than tyranids as well, so there's that.

Actually, almost all Tyranid skulls are very similar - two eyes, set close enough together to provide binocular vision while far enough apart to provide 270 degree vision, a jaw formed of split lower mandibles and attachments for five armour plates. It's only really the size and aspect ratio that vary.

The ridges and 4 pairs of holes suggest Tyranid, but:
- Tyranid skulls retain the carapace armor (and no, that's not because these two are impaled on spikes, Nid skulls are universally armored)
- the triple "ears" of a Tyranid are smaller than the eyes, arranged in a neat row, and are a fair distance away from the eye sockets
- Tyranids don't have a pronounced snout, nor do they have nostrils -- the human-hybrid Genestealer being an exception -- (the pores on the alien skull suggest that's some kind of nose)
I think it's safe to rule out Tyranids. At least the typical form we know them as. It *could* be some weird strain of mutated subspecies of Tyranid... but by that logic so could a hippo.
Speculating, I'd say it's something large, probably bestial rather than sentient, with 8 eyes, a really unusual nose/sensory organs (whiskers? tentacles?), with maybe armor or some odd structure on it's head. I want to say it's just a generic alien beast skull, but I don't really know all the xenos out there.

Clawed fiends could make sense.
At least they sort of have enough eyes. I feel that the skull might have been broader and bigger, they might just have a lot of soft tissue. If it was a clawed fiend why would the warp wolf marines have a trophy of it they are kinda a web way / dark eldar beasty not an inhabitant of the warp.

That's really really close, to the point differences might just be artistic license. The teeth and shape of the mouth are a bit off, but that nose is a dead ringer. One of the eye sockets would actually be for the ears, though.

Yeah, that definitely looks like a clawed fiend skull.
As for why the Wulfen have it, well maybe there are clawed fiends on some of the lost Eldar worlds in the Eye of Terror. The fiends may even be native to one of those worlds, and they got transplanted into the webway.

Lexicanum suggests that they might have been sucked into a warp storm in the Donorian system does anyone know more of that ? I feel this might be an easter egg for what is to come.

This reminding me of something that I've always found a little weird in regards to nids. They have a skeleton, and not an exo-skeleton ala actual bugs.

Because they're not actually bugs. And nothing really prevents a hypothetical creature from having both.

Well, they were originally appeared in the 3e rulebook as part of a splat of different aliens, which included the Necron Warrior, the Nocturnal Warrior of Hrud (a jawa with a rat tail), and the 'Clawed Fiend of the Donorian Sector'.
