2D Art -- that's allowed here, right?

Genestealer Hybrids is one of those 40K ideas I've always fancied but had no hope of reasonably creating myself with the actual models. I've tried, but ech! So instead, I went with a medium that can do the concept justice. Tried to avoid inorganic that don't naturally reproduce, so no Gems, Cybertronians, or any of the interesting Doctor Who aliens... but I couldn't NOT do an Irken, especially since that was one of the figures I actually attempted.

That's pretty cool, actually! Must be kind of inspired by Aliens in that whatever species it uses as a host affects its physical attributes.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Nice idea !

I guess a mix between the Alien saga xenomorph and a genestealer must be pretty brutal.

They look like they have teeth, but in fact their teeth are not separate from their skull. They have protrusions that act as, but are not teeth.

I think Eldar are vegetarian, with the exception of Dark Eldar.
Don't quote me though.

They do poop crystals though.

Xenology- the more you know.

"Kind of inspired".... Genestealers are blatant Alien proxies.

Soul Samurai wrote:Heh, funny stuff, and very well drawn! I recognized several of the references, though not all.

The less obvious nerdy references:
Spoiler:
Hrud = Xenology/40K
Ectonurite = Ben 10 (Ghostfreak)
Hork-Bajir & Taxxon = Animorphs
Decapodian = Futurama (Zoidberg!)
Brain-Eating Meteor = Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy

Heh, I know everybody's favorite quotes are from Aliens (and they are good quotes), but I love the sheer bizarreness of "beautiful butterfly".

timd wrote:C'thulu version?

Those would be truly terrifying!
(I'm not sure how the "next offspring is a hybrid" thing works with eldritch horrors)

I see, so they're basically crotchety old men who's teeth have all fallen out. Makes sense actually.

Hmm, I knew I'd heard the name "Hork-Bajir" before! Um, I mean... uh...
