Hello Dakka Dakka.

I have been looking at picking up a new force over the next few weeks, and while I own an Eldar and Space Marine army, I quite liked the look of the Cult Mech and Skitarii models.

Now let me preference this by saying, to start with I do not consider my self a power gamer (never ran the formations from eldar or sm, or used wraith knights etc). or a win at all costs type of player, however I do like to be competitive and so does my gaming group.

With this in mind, I really liked the idea of putting the two forces together, and after looking at the " War Convocation and "Cohort Mechanicus" it got me interested.

So my question's are as followed, and I hope the great community of Dakka Dakka can aid me.

Are either of these formations considered overpowered to the point where, people would refuse to play etc?.

Is there any other way outside of these two methods, to run both armies together in a legal list?.

Any tips or suggestions for collecting Cult Mech/Skatarii with regards to unit choices?, pros or cons? or any general advice/info.

Thank you.

War Convocation is at the top end of power building forces, so yes: You can get refusal to play off it.

Cohort Mechanicus is more forgiving in power level... But useless to you. It can only be played at points levels in excess of 2000. The formation cannot fit in a 2000 point game.

You can however ally together any forces or formations from the two codices you like, with no restrictions.

As for suggestions on units: The simplest advice is to avoid Ballistarius from Skitarii and Electopriests from Cult Mechanicus. Both units are highly underwhelming.
