So I was recently reading the Lexicanum about the Carcharadons. The fluff is amazing and I like the colors. It's rumored that they're Raven Guard successors but it's possible it's World Eaters or Night Lords.
I feel like Tac marines that take an extra CCW and Tartaros Terminators with Lightning Claws. They're 40k chapter tactic gives them fear so I feel like Night Lords work, but they have a lot of LC like the RG, but have the savagery and messiness of the WE
So which of those three legions would best represent the Carcharadons? Thanks in advance for any help and information.

rules wise: probably raven guard, though any would be good.
But why? If I'm not mistaken, wasn't there an old bit of fluff that sets them as heading out to kill stuff around M32/M33?

They're pretty much confirmed as Raven Guard now. The Raven Guard fluff talks about Nomad-Predation fleets, one of the RG Shadow Captains who was banished to the edges of the galaxy had the 'Nicor', which is the Carcharadons flagship (or one of their ships), the RG have the tribal markings, and their armour before Corax was grey and black.
That said I think one of the other two legion rules might fit them better.

I was looking into it, and your completely right. As far as rules, Night Lords have the whole fear thing but I think Raven Guard does them more justice

The RG Rules giving your Terminators Furious Charge certainly helps, but beyond that the Carcharadons aren't known for Infiltration, rather Shock Assaults.
Also you do know the Carcharadons have their Chapter Tactics up for free on the FW Website yes?

+1 to VictorVonTzeentch, Since they've only been known to follow the codex (to a point) using their rules from FW would beat out shoe-horning them into 30k. That is, unless, you just wanted to run some Raven Guard who missed out on the drop site massacre

I give a +1 VictorVonTzeentch as well. Codex: Space Marines does better justice to post-Code Astartes chapters than the Horus Heresy books.

And if he wants to make his Raven Guard have a Carcharadons emblem on them somewhere to go with the Pre-Corax Grey and Black that's fine. But he should have the Raven still on their shoulder to show that they are RG or just run them as a Blackshield Force, that later reorganized into the Carcharadons.

I'm going to do 40k Carcharadons, and I know the rules are for free. I posted a 2500 point test list in the Army Lists section.
I'm curious on how I can get them into 30k

The 40k Carcharadons didn't really exist in the Horus Heresy. Their earliest known sighting was late M32 with their most notable action being the Badab War.
But if lore isn't really a priority I'd take World Eaters or Night Lords as Legion traits.

Blackshields or Raven Guard. They were a predation fleet so they would have all the same traits as RG have. They just happen to lack subtly and never accepted the post Corax way of doing things which is why Corax sent them on their merry way in the first place.
This is 30k, no reason to power game just for rules. 30k is about fluff, 40k is about rules gaming.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM! |

I'm thinking Black Shields. They have some good units and rules.
Are Black Shields able to take legion specific units?

Maybe Shattered shields then? I think a combo of Terror squads and Dark Fury's would be pretty killer. But black shields have that nice feel to them

You could, you'll need an HQ from both Legions and if your Warlord dies the the units from the separate Legions become Distrusted Allies and only units from the Warlord's Legion are scoring if he dies.

By who? Sure isn't the books. No mention of WE or NL in IA9, IA10, or HH3. They're CONFIRMED RG in HH3.
Ironically, WE rules represent their 6E and 7E rules best, complete with Blood Hunger effect. Before 6E they just had Furious Charge and Tyberos would give Rage when certain conditions were met.

I was suggesting WE or NL, I was saying the RG is rumored because I have yet to see specific proof, but everything points to it.
I think Blackshields will be a better fit over Raven Guard. One of the WbW rules seems to fit ell with a Nomad-predation fleet

They aren't confirmed as RG in HH3, but they are all but confirmed. The NL or WE rumours were from before HH3 came out.
