What is better to protect IG Artillery (not tanks) units with void shields or aegis defense line?

I take VSG w 3 shields and 3 barricades. Same rules a ADL except:
no gun option
Can buy piecemeal (10pts per section)
4+ cover & 3+ cover if you G2G (not 2+ like ADL)

Fortifications and Stronghold Assault

I would also recommend the VSG --- amazing utility.

Ages defence lines can never run out of cover while the shield generator will run out of shields in 1 or 2 turns.

It is ITC legal but I don't know the points value off the top of my head. It's something like that but it doesn't sound quite spot on IIRC. As another poster said, it's in the Stronghold Assault book, which you'll need for the rules governing the fortification anyhow.

Funny I was going to say it dosent feel that way when you are playing tau or white scars or anyone else with good ignores cover.

warhammer 40k mmo. If I can drive an ork trukk into the back of a space marine dread and explode in a fireball of epic, I can die happy!

It is tough to find the actual model, no doubt. But truth be told, that's not the worst because it opens you up to some awesome conversions. And no one can really say anything about it as long as you have your dimensions more or less correct since....you know....you can't actually buy the real model.

My best friend loves making conversions so I cant wait to see what he comes up with!

The Void Shield Generator is the better option by far, but only if you can somehow find one or build one yourself. It's pretty much the only reason you don't see them everywhere at tournaments.

The vsg is great for protecting your army in your deployment zone, but the adl with comms relay is almost necessary if you rely heavily on reserves.

I kind of like that there isn't a VSG model. It made building my own much more fun when I didn't have to worry about it.
