Hi all,

Would hugely appreciate the advice of veteran Eldar players. I'm a new player with one-tutorial game, played in my local hobby store, under my belt.

I've started painting Iyanden (just like the colour scheme, so not a lot of "fluff") and I've come up with the following 1,000 point list. I just want it to be really mobile but I also want to cover all the bases: scoring objectives and being able to cope with numerous/weak or finite/tough foes.

CAD (with one aspect formation)

HQ
Farseer Skyrunner
Spirit Stone

Troops
3x Windriders
Scatter lasers

3x Windriders
Scatter lasers

3x Windriders
Scatter lasers

Fast Attack - aspect host +1BS
5x Warp spiders
Exarch

5x Warp spiders
Exarch

6x Swooping Hawks (anti-air and I understand they get a bonus for 6 models in the unit rather than the basic 5)
Exarch with sun rifle

Heavy
Wraithknight (stock with just the two wraithcannons)

Comes to 999 points by my maths!

Very optimized for a new player. You might find some resistance on taking a Sunrifle on the Exarch - personally I find great utility in it. Periodically playing an Orc or Necron and popping a blink on a blob squad can absolutely turn the tides.

I prefer melee Wraithknight over ranged, however that is with the asterisk of ITC rulings and nerfed ranged D. As long as it isn't the Suncannon you'll do fine I'm sure.

Not really sure what help you're after? That list is already pretty damn strong. People may laught at me, but the only issue I see is anti tank - but only against high AV vehicles. There are units out there that can down a Wraithknight in 1-2 turns. If that happens you could be in trouble. But saying that, that outcome is quite rare. With only an ad mech player causing me those kinds of problems.

Otherwise that's a very powerful start. And it won't make you many friends. But you'll have to learn how to use it. With the exception of the knight eldar are quite....flimsy. So be careful with them. Keep them out of range and use cover. Never forget the assault Jetbike move to jump you out the way. It keeps your bikes alive so much longer.

You sought to cower behind your walls, weakling? Instead, by the will of Khorne, you shall die behind them

I would consider the sword as 5+ invul is awesome vs all the ap 2 they will use to take it down, also provides amazing CC in your shooty army- just remember the bikes can move during movement, shooting and assult phase, and so can the warp spiders- this can make your army a lot stronger
