Changing Our Legion's Name

I don't play against tau since a really long time, but when i see a tau army i always see tons of riptide, ghostkeel or at least a stormsurge... what about the good old crisis? They are not good enough? Can you still build a crisis spam list and win (or try to win)?
So my final question is: there is a way to run a strong tau list, with 2 or 3 crisis team and some fire warrior team?
I really miss 3th edition, and i was just wondering if some of the old ways are still good

you want either mont'ka or the new FSE. both allow you to run crisis suits as troops.
I have brought several crisis suits to my recent games while my riptides and stormsurge stayed home (I don' yet have any ghostkeels & I don't use FW). The way that you outfit your crisis suit matters, especially when you bring only one per slot.

The main issue with crisis suits is theyre best used as solo or pairs for alpha-strikes via deepstrike. Which devours our elite slots in a heartbeat if you try to bring more than 1 such unit, and they're not that hard to remove. In fact, theyre the easiest suit to remove (any S8 AP3 shot which is very common these days = byebye crisis suit. Broadsides at least need AP2/bad luck to go splat and stealthsuits are usually rocking a 2+ cover) Riptides and Ghostkeels arent really stronger persay, but they just dont go away. Ghostkeel is ~3x as expensive as a loaded crisis suit give or take a few points, is comparably just as strong offensively, but the lone crisis suit will vaporize the moment it gets charged or fails to jump out of sight while the ghostkeel will stand there laughing at the idiot that tried to shoot him. Thats why theyre rare. If we run FSE so crisis suits are troops thus eliminating the slot competition, theyre still pretty viable. Often i'll opt to bring a Retaliation Cadre purely because it gives us 3 crisis suit units to mess with and a free riptide slot. I find the extra 3 units is really all i ever need if i want crisis units.

+1 to retribution cadre, auto arriving turn 2, give a broadside or 2 relentless and give you 3 crisis suit units. I prefer to run 2 solo suits fusion / plasma and the third group plasma/ion with a commander carrying ion/ fusion in iridium armor. bonus that it gives you an out of slot riptide.
crisis suits are good but I think compared to the rest of the codex (and mets) they are slightly overcosted, drop em 2-3 points or better yet drop melee attacks to 1 and drop em 5 points then you have the right points considering you have to buy all the equipment.

1 Ret Cadre, 2 Rapid Insertion Cadre, and a Drone-net in a DBC works out to 2000 points and has 9 Monat Crisis suits, 3 Monat Riptides, 16+ Marker Drones, a Commander, and some Broadsides. Viva la Gundam!

Part of the problem is that the formations are very attractive, but no formation allows proper crisis MSU, and every formation with crisis also includes riptides. All of the formations with Crisis suits are built for Crisis MSU, as is a FSE CAD.

Retaliation and Rapid Insertion?
Both have 3 suit teams. Both force a riptide team. Both has extra units you probably don't want to spam (commanders and stealth suits)
3 squads is not MSU. MSU crisis run at lone suits, perhaps pairs three counts as a big team already.
So if you want to MSU crisis via formations, you need at bare minimum one riptide for every 3 teams, 3 to 6 suits total.
That's as much points into riptides as you put into crisis. And then you got tax units in commanders or stealth suits, and in retaliation some broadsides too (who ate actually very welcomed)
The only other ways to deploy crisis Is one via honor guard (obvious reasons not to spam), and up to three in hunter cadre, but the hunter might as well be a CAD.
If you want crisis suits, you gotta get riptides too.

A tax? No.
But it stops you from going all out crisis, you gotta have riptides on your list even if you don't want to.

So if you want a good crisis spam list you need a to take a riptide as part of a formation so you can have all the advantages right?
and how you equip all your suits to be more effective and reliable?
I don' t play tau, i just remembered a really old matchup, where my opponents used 2 fire warrior team to sit in an objective, and 3 crisis team with a commander that use to jump all around the table and kick my ass from distance, and i' m wondering if tactics like this can be still good now

One FSE CAD is only 6 Troop Crisis, another optional 3 Elite Bodygaurd Crisis, and a Commander suit. A Retatiation Cadre is half the Crisis, but added Riptide and Broadsides. Rapid Incertion is half the Crisis, no Commander, but an added Rapid and Beacon Stealths. No "tax" units at all.
And MSU means "Multiple Small Units", to which an army of Monats is by definition.
